Getting rid of stubborn Acne..can anyone recommend products u have used?

Some comments by you guys get on my nerves and I would react back, but this site blocks "bad words." Some of you fools make it seem like I dont shower or just be at home, get the F out of here. I shower everyday, I keep myself clean and good as possible. I started working out during that time, I eat better now than before and so on. I am clean, toning up, getting back into shape and just all out doing good. Just the damn acne wont go away, thats the only thing left for me to fix about mysels, well besides getting a better job, but Im working on that now.

Thanks, to anyone who didnt troll and actually provided info. Yeah, I heard of those pills and knew that those side effects can make you commit suicide which is the reason I didnt want it.

I did some background research for you, and it seems the most effective treatments of acne is Vitamin A and Benzoyl Peroxide. So I would suggest picking up some of the Proactive (or anything else that contains Benzoyl Peroxide as the main ingredient) and try eating more foods that contain Vitamin A (mainly dairy products and dark green leafy vegetables). Those oral pills contain Vitamin A (although they contain about 500% more than the recommended daily value). Benzoyl Peroxide is the only know chemical that kills the bacteria that causes acne. Vitamin A slows down the production of oils, which can block pores and also cause acne.

Also, it seems acne can be caused from skin irritation. So I wouldn't recommend washing your face extremely often, and when you do don't push on it very hard. Another thing to point out is try not to lay your head on your hand, or touch your face period.

Some other things:

Deficient personal hygiene. Acne is not caused by dirt. This misconception probably comes from the fact that acne basically involves skin infections. In fact the blockages that cause acne usually occur deep within the narrow follicle channel, where it is usually impossible to wash them away, from the cells and sebum created there by your body. The bacteria involved are exactly the same bacteria that everyone has on their skin. It is useful to clean your skin, but doing so will not prevent acne. Anything beyond very gentle cleansing can actually worsen existing lesions and even encourage new ones by damaging or overdrying skin.

Chocolate, chips and sugar, among others, have not been shown to affect acne. This means that the scientific studies done to date did not find a big difference between acne in two groups of people, one group eating the food in question and one group avoiding it. However, one recent study [1], based on a survey of 47,335 women, did find a positive association between milk consumption and acne. The researchers hypothesize that the association may be caused by the hormones in milk. Seafood, on the other hand, may contain relatively high levels of iodine, but probably not enough to cause an acne outbreak. Still, people who are prone to acne may want to avoid excessive consumption of foods high in iodine.

Phototherapy. It has long been known that short term improvement can be achieved with sunlight. However studies have shown that sunlight worsens acne long-term, presumably due to UV damage. More recently, visible light has been successfully employed to treat acne- in particular intense blue light generated by purpose-built fluorescent lighting, or lasers. Used twice weekly, this has been shown to reduce the number of acne by about 64% [2]. The mechanism appears to be that the porphyrins generated by the P. acnes, under irradiation by blue light, generate free radicals damaging, and if consistently applied over several days, ultimately kill the bacteria [3]. Extensive basic science and clinical work first initiated by dermatologists Yoram Harth and Alan Shalita have shown that intense blue/violet light (405-425 nanometer) can decrease the number of inflammtory acne lesion by 60-70% in 4 weeks of therapy. Since porphyrins are not otherwise present in skin, and no UV light is employed, it appears to be safe, and has been licensed by the U.S. FDA [4]. However, the equipment is relatively expensive; several hundred US dollars upwards (c. 2004), and works best for mild-moderate acne.

Edit: Yeah... I know. They need to come out with a new Final Fantasy soon. I'm starting to do research in acne.

A big thanks to you Strider, thank you for taking time out and researching this. I will get more into the veggies I guess, and I guess look into taking some vitamin A pills. I already take some vitamins to help me out in my work out. Thanks for looking up man. :goodjob:

BTW,Thats makes two of us, I cant wait for 12 to come out. They keep delaying it all the time. Oh and that guy that created the FF series is making two exclusive X-Box 360 games, that righ there has prompted me to make a X-Box 360 fund for when the system releases. I gotta get the system now. lol

It seems like there are several things that can cause acne, the ones I found being:

Skin Irritation (sun damage, rubbing you face, etc.)
Bacteria
Oil/Dead skin cells

So I figure the best way to "make" sure you get rid of it is just to find the best way to solve each of the causes. Skin Irritation was easy enough, Benzoyl Peroxide kills the Bacteria, and Vitamin A does something I have no idea of, but whatever it does do (it contained alot of charts and graphs) it's been proven to fix the third problem.

Try not to eat to much Vitamin A though, or your get the same side-effects as taking Accutane. On the plus side, your get better night-vision for eating the correct amount.

Also, I read about Microsoft pulling the Final Fantasy creator out of retirement. I was all excitied also at first, untill I read that they were having the DBZ character designer design the characters for his game (called Blue Dragon). I lost interest shortly after reading that.
