The only card you have left to play now is accusing him of anti-semitism. Rut-roh. Anyway, he asked a legitimate question: if these guys being released are terrible killers of Israeli civilians, why would their government trade over 1,000 of them for one of their conscripts?

Yes I do, when I go to reserve duty, I know that if captured, there will be no stone left unturned to recover me safely, all soldiers know this, and it is ingrained right at the core of the army.
I am not going to justify the reason for jailing every single person on that list, the court already did that.
Although some were couhgt quite red handed, one guy's suicide vest didn't fully explode, so he only killed 1 Israeli and lost his legs, poor chap.
Moving away from the current tanget that doesn't look like it will end well, how does this impact Fatah?
Remember, one of the reasons Israel encouraged the proto-Hamas was to break PLO/Fatah control and unity. Given that Israeli really doesn't want the Fatah-lead West Bank to get UN Observer State status, might this in part be a ploy to weaken Fatah by giving Hamas more attention and cutting Fatah out from negoitation processes? If Israel wants to maintain the current status quo, Fatah is their biggest threat. Hamas can't do much more then shoot a few homemade rockets into Israel and because of their actions, is isolated internationaly.
No, but it would make sense, considering all the bickering going on in this thread. I am sure that Israel spends the least amount of money on prisoners as they can get away with and the pay and service that it places on it's military is worth a lot.
Among those opinions were divided quite sharply, with one side arguing against the release of their relatives murders, while the other saying that Gilad is still alive, while their relatives aren't, and life is sacred.
