Girls who society or mass marketing say are supposed to be hot but you don't find hot

"I don't get the tanned part either. The first thing I think of seeing tans with light colored hair is "proto-skin cancer". I'm sorry, future cancer patients... Not my idea of attractive."
It seemed apparent that we specifically talking about tanned Europeans, that being the prescribed beauty standard which we were discussing. Obviously, some ethnic groups have naturally olive tones, but they weren't the people we were referring to (and tend to have a more natural, less orangey skin tone anyway).

Only women don't find Katy Perry that attractive. And I'll fight to the death any man who disagrees.

Studies and theories of evolutionary psychology typically agree that men are genetically predisposed to be attracted to fairer skin, whereas women don't really care about skin tone. Why many men and women have been socialized to like tan skin, it is not natural or as common in men.

I prefer my women fair skinned and dark haired, although these preferences are not as strong as they once were. Naturally darker skin is not a problem, but heavy tans are still quite unattractive.

I was joking :p

I'll just echo the general consensus that many celebrities/models aren't that pretty, and the crazy thin image is silly and not attractive. Other things though:

whereas women don't really care about skin tone.

I've heard of studies that have found that to not be the case, I'm curious what you are citing here.

Also, this thread is interesting because I really figured I'd never get an answer to this question, but that's all the type of thing going on in the thread so I might as well ask.

I'm trying to remember/find out who is this one actress/model. I might have seen her on TV in advertising, not a show though, or a recent movie (not necessarily a movie I might have seen but a preview for one). She would be young and NOT from anything particularly old - probably in her 20s now.

The distinguishing/memorable thing is that she has, like, a horribly flat face with eyes spaced apart obscenely wide, or through makeup and similar stuff cultivates that appearance. Large mouth/typical hollywood shined teeth - part of that may just be the typical "giant smiles at everything" you see in media. Brown hair, might say she's "white" though possibly some ethnic/Latina in her, and normal build for an actress/model otherwise, not extremely thin or anything.

Flat face? Makes me think of Tia Carrere. Not a fan of her either.

I prefer people with minor "flaws". Makes them human. Perfection is dull.

I have never understood the attraction to Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson or Anna Nicole Smith. Ugly faces, ugly bodies.

I KNOW, RIGHT?

Here are some more disgusting "women":

Those three are hot or atleast OK.

Kaley Cuoco however, there is nothing "hot" about her, but she is so damn attractive nontheless. Especially in Big Bang Theory.

Yeah, Maxim is tough to look at after a while. I prefer my women not dressed, posed and airbrushed personally. Though I'm sure many of those girls look great in real life.

Her elbows are way too pointy.

I'm alright with pointy elbows, especially if they come with those breasts.
