In other news: European Thumb Twiddling Championships scheduled for next month. King Friedrich Wilhelm welcomes a chance for the unemployed diplomatic corps of Europe to prove their metal, in recent months they've certainly had much opportunity for practice.
"I have no doubt that Prussian ingenuity will see our thumb twiddlers dominate all comers" he was heard to comment.
The Prussian's team's bid is also expected to be boosted by the inclusion of respected thumb twiddlers from the Northern German states.

KKS Karpatia lost

While a cease fire was signed early this month between Austria and Spain, one of Austria's frigate has not reported back from its latest patrol off the tip of Italy. While Sizilian authorities suggested the vessel having ripped its hull on the dangerous cliffs in this uncharted area, all indications point at a Spanish frigate seen in these waters the previous month sinking the Imperial vessel "Karpatia" despite the peace agreement. The War ministry stated early this morning that the investigations will continue, with possible retaliation following...

Austrian and Russian forces are regrouping

... Austrian cannon are returned to safer locations in the west of the Austrian empire, while Russian artillery is arriving. Apparently the joint efforts of Russia and Austria have reached entirely new spheres of successfull cooperation on strategic during this latest campaign.

Denmark liberated

As the year 1799 dawned the Prussian armed forces were forced into action in order to liberate the people of Denmark. There had been several months of disquiet due to the rule of incompetant and mentally unstable Christian VII. Looking enviously south to the Prussian North German provinces the people spontaneously took to he streets to protest against tyrannous reforms which threatened many livlihoods, chief amongst them the decision to abolish serfdom. A number of rural nobles, representing those of the lower classes, decided to call in the Prussian military in order to restore the state to its proper condition.

In a joint operation Prussia's navy and army combined to rid the city of Copenhagen of those traitors to the people of Denmark who had remained on the tyrant's side. The city was then occupied by Saxon troops, to much rejoicing from all patriotic Danes.

King Christian VII abdicated the throne and fled to Norway. Friedrich Wilhelm is expected to be crowned as the country's new King within the week.
