Revolution in Austria !!!

Today the Kaiser formally abdicated preempting a bloody uprising, and favoured the election of a Republican two chamber system to be embedded in the Austrian constitution:
There will be a Chamber of Delegates elected from representatives of the general public handling the country's policies, as well as a Chamber of Regional Governors to secure the feasability of the electoral decisions, as well as to maintain order and stability during the period of transition, as first signs of famine and social unrest are felt.

The Command of the Armed Forces in the Field now relies on the Archduke, who has ordered Austrian troops to disengage and return to secure positions in the light of negociations to be undertaken with France and Russia. The campaign in the Mediterranean calls for special mediation, as the Attack on Athens left the crew of three ships without supplies, and to starvation! The Austrian High Seas Fleet is no more... Losses have been documented as one transport ship, two frigates, 7 infantry regiments and either one or two cavalry ones...

Although the general public cheered at the Russian Army sparing Sarajevo, mourning voices were heard about the destruction of defenseless Aspern: "The Russians have foresaken their honour by backstabbing their most loyal friend and ally, we doubt this new idea of a 'Republic' makes better states if what it offers is betrayal... forgotten the days of when Austria aided its Friends with expertise in industrial fields and when it granted access to those ports that sent the 'blunted' blade into our back"...

However grief the situation may be for those common 'citizens', the Austrian Leaders wish to open pan-European talks as had been suggested several times by different sides during the last year... the glorious victories of the past seem meaningless today.

Austria advices Prussia to join into talks with the other European powers under installment of a cease fire. Britain is adviced to sue for peace with France and for the time to focus on targets outside mainland Europe- and to build UNITS, whatever the future holds !

All is quiet on the front for the first time in months. France is regrouping its forces to meet the demands put on them by Napoleon.

On the positive side, the first massive armament production is finished. Even women is participating in the factories.

In view of this dispicable betrayel by the Russian empire, the British government has decide to sue for peace with the French.

We are willing to discuss new terms.

Those members of the crowd who were still awake cheered frantically.

In military matters:
When brought the full news of the Russian betrayal through a Prussian diplomat a unit of cavalry and the crew of a major battleship mutinied, returning Danzig
to Prussian hands. They then took the offensive to their former compatriots, liberating the city of Konisberg and destroying the Russian artillery batteries located on the outskirts of the city.

In an epic forced march back East, still exhausted from the Battle of Liege, Prussian troops assumed new defensive positions, as Russian troops menaced the city of Warsaw. Although they may die in the attempt, their lives will buy vital time for the rest of the army.

Prussia is ready to fight for the future of Europe on as many
fronts as is required.

Austria pleads for the lives of the inocent peoples in Sarajevo, as the small city has no garrison nor any troops in production so as not to provoke the invader.

In the meantime the negociations for Italy have started after again no side could gain superiority, despite a third month of heavy losses...

As a sign of goodwill Prime Minister Pitt ordered all British forces to avoid engaging the French.

The British people are tried of this war, they now realize that the French are not simply another nation but a force whose magnitude is incromprehensible. We are willing to discuss new terms for peace between French and English.

In other news the British government has collapsed, in view of the governments failure to defend the home island, a revolution is occuring and a process in for new government with the voice of the people is progressing.

Hi people:

1)Following requests of various players to change the final version of GNB to alter the use of Traders and Diplomat units I would welcome any suggestions as on how to implement this best:
I have been asked to leave out the Emisaire as it seems to make the game too volatile- I myself favour the idea of the Diplomat becomming obsolete as powerful leaders emerge- thus rendering the bribery useless through the leader's superior aura
The Traders have been considered too expensive and relativly useless, since they do not generate enough income (at the same time the trader's slot could be used to house a new corvette unit to better balance the naval play...

2)Is Prussia too powerful with the awarding of 8 additional regiments?? (note: in the final version Ulans and Leib-Hussaars are being replaced by a unique foot unit, the Lützow Freicorps, being much more historic than the other two 18th century units)
The idea here is to cut the number down to 6 regiments (leaving space for more events)
