One of the finer opportunities available to us is to carry out actions based not on game reasons, but on story/theme reasons.

With that in mind, our intrepid scouts (Lewis and Clark got NOTHING on those guys!) have recently discovered a new fruit called grapes. Being of sound moral character, they immediately tried to ferment it. Imagine their surprise when the resulting brew was almost drinkable!

I would like to propose a goal of our nation creating a line of cities within the next 50 turns that allows the introduction of wine into our culture. Imagine the horror of NOT having a glass of red wine as the French? Tragedy!

Please, encourage our officials to support this plan, to bring forth the fruit of the vine to our fair country!

That sounds like a great idea for a CHD submission ravensfire. :)

BTW, I too believe that our expansion should be in that general direction.

I do not think we should be placing cities just to get wines. If we want them that badly let's just use a worker to build a road there and make a colony.

We may well be better off founding our second city way up on the north coast.

That's it Jon, take away Donsig's wine glass. Imported at great expense from the furthest reaches of Fanatica's exploration and he STILL cannot partake in and enjoy one of life's small pleasures.
Quick, someone replace his wine with prune juice. Save the wine for those who truly appreciate it. :p

I agree with Rik. At the moment we do need more cities and workers. Right now we should focus more on establishing a Settler/Worker Factory.

I like wine!
