I will come out my period of intense HW to say something regarding some complaints that I have been receiving regarding certain accuracies in this NES.
First, from what my research has told me, there has never truly been a very intense Government-organized drive to develop Fusion, in which a singificant portion of the resources of that nation were poured into this project. Second, Fusion, IRL, does work, it just is very inefficient. Without giving out too much information which might compormise certain aspects of current projects that are ongoing, the USA and the other countries involved did develop functioning Fusion power. Unfortunately, with the Russian invasion, we never had a chance to determine how efficient and effective it was.
Regarding the Synthetic Armor, I believe that we are talking about different things. Now, it is hard for me to explain the specifics of it, since the project that developed the synthetic armor was secret, but the Commonwealth union did make some fairly major gains in that area concerning Synthetic armor, after pouring singificant amounts of money into this.
Laser Guns, to the best of my knowledge, nobody has produced such a thing. Toteone, I am not sure what you mean by that.
Lastly, regarding the Nukes, note that they were mostly smaller Nukes that were dropped on 17/62, of the 1-5 megaton range. In fact, most were about 1-2 mt. 50, in fact, 100 mt bombs had been developed, but none were deployed. The pollution was bad, but that is pollution, and it is, as the progressive series of maps starting from the initial update will clarify, is receding.
In summary, like all NESes, there are certain historical inaccuracies. I do research to ensure that the projects that are being developed are realistic, but occaisionally I do peruse Websites with less then accurate information. The fun of a NES lies in the fact that we have historical inaccuracies. If we didn't, then reality-based NESes would be very boring, since everybody would know how things turn out.
One last note regarding projects, some have had large sums of time and money poured into them, not not worked, as in real-life. I am tried to be realistic as much as possible here, so, while some appear to succeed, others fail. Again, at this time, for security purposes, and not giving away secrets that would ruin this NES for some players, I cannot specify which projects failed.
And welcome noncon! I will add you to the list of countries. Good choice, btw.
Ok, my time is finished. I return to the depths of HW. I will be on MSN Friday Evening my time, for everyone who needs to talk to me about stuff. If I missed anything addressed to me in this thread, then please PM or E-mail or MSN that to me to ensure that I address your concerns.
And yes, I have been doing some formal english writing.
