GOTM-03 Saves Available

You won't be able to try Safari unless you have a Mac. The display you are seeing is the one DaveMcW is also complaining about. Firefox seems to have no style sheet built in for RSS data formatting, so it just displays the raw XML text.

Here's what the CFC news feed looks like in Safari. Orange denotes unread articles.

... and this is the one that aggregates the two GOTM forums and the Mac forum for me. These are the forums I help to moderate, so I can see at a glance when new threads appear.

The IE7 beta has a similar style RSS layout to the Safari one AlanH posted. It also highlights in the favourites which feeds have been updated since you last read them. So that might be one solution for Windows users (until Firefox gets a better RSS layout than its current live bookmarks menu).

Not sure if here is a good place to ask, but I shall try.

What date and time is the cuttoff for submitions? I totally forgot how short this month is, and have a few more hours to play. I would like to submit, but can I?

Check the IVOTM submission page and you'll notice it states exactly how many hours you have left to submit. I believe they give you until the end of the final day, just not sure on which time zone.

Thanks, that is what I was looking for. So it says I have 19 hours left, and it is 2.20pm here. Sounds like I have until 9 am tommorrow morning to submit. Hmm, may be a long night.

We keep submissions open until the date changes at last place on earth. So the measurement time zone is on the eastern side of the International Data Line.

Ah, well, therein lies a tale!

Some people with very aggressive ad blockers complained that they couldn't see the image last month. So I changed it from having the text embedded in the graphic to having a separate text link. There was only one file last month, so when the three-file page was created for GOTM 3 it looks like the change got mislaid.

Anyway, I've made it so. Thanks.

Looks like it reverted to image-only for GOTM04. :(
