Raze as many Roman cities as possible, set Caesar back. I think this game is looking like a space attempt.
 
Oops, I totally forgot real life. My brother in law celebrates his 30th B-day today and the wife said I have to choose between a divorce or going to the party. Well, not really :lol:

But unfortunately I can't play this today. I sometimes say I'm a scatter-brain, now you know why. My apologies.

I opened the save and we have some fun turns ahead of us. I guess we have to wait until grahamiam can take or if someone with time on their hands can jump in and play, please do so.
 
Preflight check: Mission: To be the snot out of Rome (aka, elimination :evil: ) Wow, they are huge! Accidently end the turn while looking for stealing opportunites.

IBT: Lose a redlined zerk.

T1: 960AD Do a safe steal on the Mayan (they wouldn’t trade Steam for anything). We succeed, and now we own steam power. We don’t have any coal and none on our home island, but the Romans have tons :(
Fastest research time for Industrialization is 21T, other IA techs are no faster.
Sell Steam to Egypt for 51gpt, 4g, WM and Alliance vs Rome
Join 2 slaves into Washington and NY. Washington should be able to do 20spt. Also, we need more banks.
Cav army needs to heal so bombard the Roman troops around our stack.

T2: 970AD Cav army still healing.

T3: 980AD Cav army up to 10/12, so Zerk Army + Zerk’s + Cannon move towards Syracuse.
There’s another Roman town on a coast, Sirium, that has coal.

IBT: Aztec’s offer an MPP if we pay them 2gpt :lol: must be the water

T4: 990AD Setup for Syracuse. Building a settler in Trond so we can take the coal.

T5: 1000AD @ Syracuse: Cannons go 2 for 7; Zerk Army kills rifle (10/15); Zerk Army kills ¾ rifle (7/15); Cav army kills rifle and promotes (13/13), razing the town.
@ Simion: Zerk kills rifle (3/4); Zerk dies to musket and promotes it (4/4); Zerk kills musket and promotes to elite and we raze the town. Another Zerk Captures 2 nearby workers.

T6: 1010AD Zerk Army healing. Virconium isolated.

T7: 1020AD moving

T8: 1030AD moving

IBT: Maya demand silks and I cave. I want to steal from them next turn.

T9: 1040AD Try a steal on the Mayan but fail. Settler and buddies land @ Coal spot.

T10: 1050AD Abandon Konya. Found Coaltown

Rome is very, very big, but we can hurt her. i had a brain fart with the workers near coaltown and have them roading the wrong tile. may want to move them so we can get coal connected.

My computer didn't work yesterday because of another heatwave and I played through 5 SG's this morning. I'm cross-eyed and need another day to finish my turns.

Pre-turn - Looking good.

Find the coal-town and I have to laugh because the non-defense. We have to find a different approach to this, you didn't really think we can hold that town with a musket and 2 cavs G?

1060AD - Coaltown was a pipedream, when 27 roman cavs and another 9 units shows up :lol:

Sort out what units to ship, a zerkarmy will go to the coalspot.

Kill a cav by our stack.

I move the cavs and slaves in to Coaltown, kill 2 cavs and gift the city to Maya and we got our units home safely. Smoke is now polite.

Fill up another galleon with cavs and send it on its way.

1070AD - Egypt sign peace with Rome and we lost the 51gpt Cleo was paying us. She is too much of a threat on our homelands now and I sign her up against Caesar again for wines and 203g. We can't have Egypt sneak-attacking our defenseless cities.

Rome razed Coal-Town. :mischief:

Just for good measure I give Aztecs Nationalism for allaince against Rome and 8gpt.

We just have to continue with the plan to raze as many roman cities as possible within 20 turns. It will be slow and we need all the help and diversions we can get.

1080AD - Darn Inca sign peace with Rome, they want 300g and wines for alliance. I wait.

Kill 2 cavs.

Load settler on galleon, we have the zerk-army and 2 more zerks going for the coal.

1090AD - Enough units are healed in the stack, get it moving.

Rome founded a town by "our" coal.

1100AD - Move stuff.

Forgot we can steal stuff and give it a go, careful attempt on Maya for 1700g and we learn Industrialization. Swap some cities to factories. Geez, we need that coal.

1110AD - We lost the iron and furs from Egypt, they want us to pay 120gpt for renewal.

Buy spices from Aztecs for wines and 243g, we have to figure out the iron later.

Attack Lugdunum and kill 2 rifles and a cav, raze the city for 2 slaves and 2 cannons. Lost zerk

Kill rifle and cav.

1120AD - Lose baitzerk.

Kill a rifle with settler as the stack moves on to Pompeii.

Zerkarmy and other zerk kill 3 rifles in the town ob the coal and we raze it, settler is in place. Lost a zerk though.

Built another settler to try to grab the iron nearby.

1130AD - Stavanger founded on the coal, now we just need some iron.

Egypt wants around 100gpt for iron, I reneg peace and we get it for 66gpt. That works, rush the harbor in Stavanger for 240g so we can start railing next turn.

1140AD - Bombard the 3 rifles in Pompeii, lose 2 elite zerks against 1hp rifles. Raze the city for 3 slaves.

Whack another rifle with settler, kill a cav.

Start railing, we are really short of workers.

Our people are unhappy, Egypt is worse than the fishmonger around the corner and wants lots for their furs. But I buy it for 9gpt and 388g, it's cheaper than luxtax.

Sell Ind, to Aztecs for 18gpt and 66g, way cheap but we'll need more money. And their handful of cities won't be a problem later anyways. I hope.

1150AD - Army and stack needs some healing and we can continue the campaign. A couple of ships are on their way to pick up workers.

We need more defense in Stavanger. A couple of ships are ready to go there.

And remember, we only use combat settlers from now on. That's a rule! :lol:

I read it again and it does sound funny, so I better explain. Cav hits rifle and take settler. Maybe I should use that in my write-ups from now on :)

Yesterday's play delayed by blizzard caused power outage. Hope I can finish today before it goes again....
 
1150 Renewed the ivory deal with Smoke and he throws in 11gpt for our wines and incense.

1160-1170
Rome stacks twenty-seven cavalry at Stavanger plus a miscellany of other units and loses eight of them killing our army and capturing the city which does not burn. The relief force was one day's sail away and arrives just in time to retake the town, defended by a single cavalryman. The remaining nineteen cav are just outside, however so I don't expect the town will hold.

Entertainment goes up as the WW rises.

In 1180 Stavanger falls and the relief force on the mountain is wiped out but Ravenna is razed in retaliation but I now have a seriously wounded cavalry army with no evacuation possible....

In 1190 Veii and Bach's Cathdral burn to the ground.

Roman counter attacks at the rubble of Ravenna kill a cav and a Roman landing on the home island kicks off riots....

In 1240 Maya begin Theory of Evolution and our health cavalry army begins a Roman (pillaging) holiday. The remainder of the expeditionary force is picking off wandering Roman cavs. Upgraded some muskets for defense in the homeland, piling up gold for a steal attempt on something...

An berserk assault on Cumae fails miserably.


In 1250AD the whole island erupts due to war weariness. Scroll through the cities and prevent triots everywhere but Washington and Trondheim, then raise the entertainment tax and go back and reassign the citizens to more useful tasks. Rush a temple in NY to get the one unhappy ctitizen back at work.

Rome is now cut off from the world and cannon and cavalry are moving inland toward Antium while another force of rifles, 'zerks and cannon is heading to Caesaraugusta or Bagacum. The xerks need healing in the forest. Meanwhile the Inca declare on Rome having dropped some little towns on Rome's east coast.

WE have enough in the bank for an immediate theft attempt on Communism if we want to continue our warring ways. The alliances have 2 turns to go...and the Romans are treatening Stockholm.

:eek: I thought the foot+ and 30 mph wind drifts were bad.

Of course, I already cleared part of the sidewalk TWICE and it is completely covered again.
 
You guys just be careful in that stuff. I didn't get this played today. Too many RL duties to attend to.
