GozGram 1 - Hammurabi and The Code of Laws (100k)

How fast can those Port. swords move? before we sue for peace?

I always wanted Madras, no away towns.

Say Rahhh!

:help:

i agree, but if we bite off more that we can chew, we'll surely pay. also, it'll be a significant flip risk. is Madras better in the longterm plans, rather than the shorterm?

good point about portuguese swords. they can't get to us quickly and maybe we'll have enough time to sue for peace. plus we get some breathing room to the E and SE and a lux.

Roster: 24hrs got it, 72hrs play it

I'm stumped for once. :crazyeye:

Really, we have to focus on that Indian city. Flip will be none at size 1.

Those mountains by Port. makes me quiver. But I think bowmen are even better than "normal" defenses.

But then, India is possibly building WE' s already.

I did edit.

I don't even know, but does bowmen have the stuff as archers do?
do sleepless nights cause your typing to degrade and your svenska bleed into your english? :joke:  sorry for taking advantage of your late night. i'm all hopped up on morning coffee :D

bowman are 2.2.1 with a defensive bombard like the archer. so, instead of building stacks of archers and spears, we just make them all bowman and hope for the best. we were able to fend off immortals in 1.0gram with archers and spears so we could grab the persian iron so i don't think all hope is lost yet, though we did have 2x as many towns.

First we need to hope that India hasn't gotten to Chivalry yet. War Elephants will eat us for lunch.

I think we need to shift our builds to all military, all the time. Until the war is over. Figure we are now in survival mode. The stronger we appear perhaps the less chance for a dogpile.

I think we really need a lux. Therefore I think we should go for Sagres (gems) or Madras (incense) Problems with both of those => a salient. Militarily, the smartest move we could make would be to take Jaipur, although we will have a broad front against India, As G-man pointed out we will be able to set up some killing zones.

I think at Sagres, if we can get some units onto the mountains and steer the Portuguese onto the flats, we will be much more successful.

If we place spears on the highlands marked by the red X's the Portuguese will probably follow the green arrows around them, allowing us to set up kill zones at the yellow circles. Of course this plan is only good until we meet the enemy in combat

nice layout bugs. that'll probably be our entire military @ Sagres but it seems feasible if losses are low when taking the town. nice that the portugese are roading to the town for us :)

Hopefully Sagres will grow to pop 3 before we attack. You know on turn one of the war Henry is going to whip a spear there. We may want to consider having a settler ready to grab the location if it autorazes.

On second thought if it does autoraze, I'd resettle 1SE of the wheat to still grab the gems. Better killing zones.

If I would known the AI was going so quick in the research, I would've built more bowmen. Unluckily I found out they researched the heck of each other and traded everything they got to each other as well. No surprise.

It sounds like a deity newbie. :)

Thank you for the input microbe.

I will remember to always ask YOU before I choose to do something,

Thanks grs! for the answer about bows and bombardment, I didn't know.

Bugs: If I already had something that would be called military, I would've sent our troops that way. But we have ONE spearman and bows are as strong in defense , so we should build them for now. If I remember correctly, both Spain and India are already Monarchies, so no worries about pops. I already sent our one sunbathing bow to Nineveh.

What a cool name, Nineveh.

Huh? Erh, yes. I think Sardis is the way to go, take the city and find peace. Then send everything we have over to Madras ands the same procedure.

G-man: "I don't even know, but does bowmen have the stuff as archers do?"
I AM tired, where did I go wrong with one sentence? Ah well, I take it from you. :)

microbe: show your stuff, don't be shy to overrule builds. Good luck.

There is one way and only one way to win the game.

There is a limit of taking cities, but no limit of how many cities we can settle inside AI territory. Anyone read Arathorn's passive AW game?

We need to keep expanding until we win. And the most important wonder would be Pyramids. I hope it's nearby.

Good point microbe, I have 3 cities already on my mental dotmap. I'll create one immediately. Push and swing, who said that?

Just mind the S dots for now, if I only knew where I hid those settlers...

i was just kidding around, making a bad joke. i get a little chippy in the morning after the 10th person comes to my desk and tells me he needs something "right away" :)

dots look good to me. tight, defensive build. ah well, after CoL and the war, we can build up some cash reserves and start stealing and dealing :)

G-man: Engineers! Just lazy people sitting on comfy chairs telling people of what to do. Pfft. Time to take your superior mass and try something real, like digging a trench yourself or laying a roof. Snob! ;)

I wouldn't bet we get those city-sites soon, since our other cities are well below par already. But everything hangs on microbe's turns now, if he can pull out a successful turnset. we still have a chance.

No pressure microbe :)

no thanks, that's why i spent all that time in school, learning diffe que's, Bernoulli's, etc., so i could get a piece of paper that allowed me to sit on my rear while watching others get bloody knuckles :D i don't mind grease monkey stuff, though. a good tool set and i'll teardown and rebuild anything :)
and if i want to dig a ditch, i just need to talk to my better half about those half-dozen cherry trees she wants (best to wait till the spring, hun). get on a roof? christ, i get dizzy step stool

 It's peasants like me then, that make you sleep at night and waking up dry.

Unfortunately I never finished any degrees back then, but I'm rectifying it now, kind of.

All I have is a silly paper that explains I'm in the 99th percentile of Australian males regarding IQ and that will take me far. In my dreams. And I'm not even australian.

Sucks.
