are you refering to a monster map a'la Aggie? I remembered when I shadowed that game, IT took up to 90min :lol:

But, this would be an interesting game, I would be in, if you take me. We would need someone to get us a map. What were you thinking of? pangaea?
 
The map size would be 240 x 240. Going to 360 like aggies file would make the density much lower and actually be a fairly easy game.

So the idea is to allow each civs the same amount of space (aproximately) but have all 31 civs in the game.

240x 240 is actually a bit more space. 230 x 230 would be closer to the same amount. I am unsure which is harder.
 
I won't commit either way until I get more details on map dimensions - %waters, pangaea, etc.
 
This sounds like a lot of fun. But I'm approaching a period of unavailability to play due to travel, and I've never tested my somewhat outdated computer on a map remotely this large. So I'm afraid the most I can say is that if you'd like a reinforcement to the team around August 15, and if trials with the saves suggest that my computer can deal with the challenge, I'd be glad to join the game then.

Of course you might want to see how bad I jack Hndy17 up before accepting me... :lol:
 
Sure Matt_G, Welcome :)

The details:
Map size: 240 x 240, 31 opponents
70% Pangea
Climate: Middle of the road I think
Barbs: Sedentary (mostly because dealing with them on a large map would be a pain)
Civ: TBD (feel free to suggest one).

I would probably use the first start though an all tundra start would be thrown out.

These points are negotiable if you don't like them.
 
I will pass with it being Pangea. The possiblity of 20 active opponents is to much for me even at Monarch.
 
Would you play if it was continents? I have a slight preference for Pangea to see how crazy it gets. but also like contients (the invasion of other continents)

If the only thing that is blocking you from joining is the fact that it is Pangea, then I will switch it
 
Greebley, I actually was imagining a pangaea since it would get real crazy. But if LK has problems and wants continents...I guess your pillaging restrictions are still in place.

As for the Civ, it would be one with military traits? expansionist? nice UU...
 
Everything sounds good to me. Pangea or continents, it doesn't matter to me. The only thing I would suggest is maybe bump it to 60% water to have a little more room. Even a 240X240 with all civs will be very crowded. Just a thought...

Edit - About a Civ to play, I haven't given it too much thought, but I think the commercial trait should be given a lot of consideration given the map size.
So that gives us:
Iros - Mounted warriors rock. Damn early GA.
English
Greeks - Hoplites, gotta love 20 sheild pikes right at the start of the game, albeit at the expense of a ultra early GA (Like 1 city maybe?) :lol:
Korea
India - Nice UU, provided we live that long...
Rome - Legions, great UU. Good offense and defense in one. Still a Despotism GA, but hey, at least we would live long enough to have a GA. :lol:

That IS what is blocked me. I feel the odds of beating Monarch with 31 civs on our continent is 0%. I won't play if I don't feel I at least have a chance to win...
