[Graphic Mod] Varietas Delectat v9.2 [civ specific unit sets]

I play civilization on my family computer. When I log into my name (Zach), I can download the add-on civilization installers easily, it's click and check the options. But I can't install them into my game because only the Administrator account can do that. So when I go on that account (which I am on now), I have a harder time downloading the add-ons. It makes me choose where to save the file, and I don't know where to put it. Do you have a suggestion?

Where you download the installer to does not matter, only where you then install the mod to.
 
Also, how do you change the title of the thread without starting a new one? Moderator action I'm guessing?

Not necessarily. I believe there is a certain period after the creation of the thread where you can edit the title of the first post to edit the title of the thread.

Hi avian, just an FYI. I am using Varietas Delectat and was getting a crash trying to load a save game. I have traced it down to Ethnic Citystyles v1.04 included in that MOD. In CIV4PlotLSystem.xml the native american tile sets are pointing to native_america.nif the correct nif file is native_american.nif. I corrected the error and no longer crash, dunno if this has been brought up but I thought I'd give you a heads up.

Avian, I am still going through the VD and LoR art. I havve found a few units that I had fixed along with some in VD that needed optimizing. LoR's version of VD was indeed quite outdated I have probably incorporated 100 units from your mod so far into LoR. But I have also found a few LoR units that VD is missing. When I am done I will post them.

I have found something curious with some of your units. I have noticed that with some of your units the material emissive color is turned down to zero, making them appear black in scene viewer. The ones i have found like this are mostly the asian warlord (maybe from that 3 kingdoms mod?) and pretty much all of the Dutch units. Most of them seem to be made by the same person (also alot of hidden meshes that sould be deleted). And with other units the lighting seems to be normal on one side and then really dark on the other side. How do these appear in game? Either way I am going to fix these. it will make it easier for any one wanting to mess around with these units.

I'm guessing you're talking about danrell's units (Dutch). Asian Warlords are from the 3 kingdoms mod, and made by bakuel or bernie (both amazing artists)

As soon as I get home, I'll get onto it. I'm curious what changed in regards of XML (but my first guess would be that VD should work fine with 3.19, but will check)

I was just curious if these units appear too dark in the game. In scene viewer they appear black and I have to turn up the lighting to get a good look at them. I do agree that those are some of the best looking units, otherwise i wouldnt be asking about them.

And I might take a little while to finish this. I am trying to do both LoR and VD at same time.

As far as I know they are ok in game.
 
updated to v6.1

- BtS patch 3.19 compatible
