That would be my dream combination :) Isit possible to merge these two mods or does it take advanced coding skills to make them work together? Im not big into all the unrealistic elements that come after the modern era, i prefer the realism feel. That's why i thought your VD MEE was perfect for people like me :)

That pretty much is what Quot Capita (also by avain) is. So you might want to take a look at that.

You can play Quot Capita without the next war component if you don't like it.
 
When you arrive at the future era/next war stuff hit escape. And then click on "Exit to Main Menu."

As QC is made WoC standard you can disable the modules you don't want. There might be some cross references I did not check in the latest release, so if after disabling Next War you run into some errors, give me those reports and I'll fix it for you on the next release.
 
I love your mod! Suggestion though - have you ever thought of increasing the power of nukes in your mod? I think it would be cool if they actually deformed the land/destroyed cities. I seen a mod in another forum called the planet breaker (missle); have you heard of it? Something like that...

Well, I am confused about your question.

There is a download link in the first post of this thread (as is customary for mod threads). So that is how you get the mod, the mod contains all the different units.

Not sure if this answers your question (I assume you would know how to install a mod since you have been here for a year already).
 
It is a bug, but only in MEE. You can easily fix it by changing in ModernEra_4VD_Land_CIV4UnitInfos.xml
the UNIT_MECHANIZED_INFANTRY:
from
<bNoDefensiveBonus>1</bNoDefensiveBonus>
to
<bNoDefensiveBonus>0</bNoDefensiveBonus>

I'm not even sure if this was not intentional on my part, as to give the modern infantry better fort. bonus in cities.

If you care to 'fix' this, I (we) don't mind I suppose, if there will be a next version of VD. I don't want to sound crass either. I love VD and won't play without it....Right now, I am running BUG (latest regular release not SVN), VD 7.0 (no modern expansion), BBAI merge with BUG per the instructions, and (High-Res) Blue Marble.

I am quite intrigued by VD MEE. That you say it is a version 1, is giving me pause...and maybe a jump over to QuotCapita but in the QuotCapita thread it seems to indicate some bugs still need squashing...so I figured to hold off until a next version or...as MEE is still a viable option in VD, are there plans to update MEE in VD? if one thinks that QuotCapita has too many changes for example....not sure about the ranged combat element for me at this point.

I will also use BUG 4.0 when that becomes available or there is also BAT 2.0....but I will need to do the BBAI merge again for that and I did not do that yet.

Thanks for all these great mods. This game has endless life with them available.

One thing I am not at all sure of is, does one need the 3.19 UP if using BBAI, if somebody can comment on that.
 
Guys, thanks for the positive review - but I have to say that the Modern Era in VD is somehow a version 1 of what I thought would be balanced.
If you plan to slightly increase Modern Era Expansion. I have a few suggestions you could consider.

1. Modern Era Scout unit, UAV / Predator. I saw the graphic in Legends of Revolution mod.
2. Modern Era Resource, Titanium. Would increase build speeds on units. I think I saw this in Rise of Mankind 2 or "Extra".
3. The Joint Strike Fighter. Could have a very low limit amount on this since its not fully operational at the moment and can be built same the time as the Advanced Tatical fighter. I saw the graphic in legends of revolution mod.
4. Bio missile and bio protection promotion.
5. Modern day privateer.

Install Bug to custom assests. (Option availible when installing the mod).
Install VD, can install with Modern Era expansion and extra leaderheads too!
Go to the BBAI forum and there is a stickied thread for merging Bug and Better AI together, i believe you pick the second option.
Install Blue Marble.

When i added BBAI to BlueMarble/VD 7.0/BUG 3.6 it caused longer load time between turns. About 15-20seconds load at 1600AD with 8 civs stndard map, normally its 5-8seconds for me without BBAI. Maybe i done something wrong to cause that.

Yes. I think the above is correct. They say to install Blue Marble first (not sure why but maybe that is for the best...Who can play with Vanilla terrain anyway. Note that Blue Marble has some options....I don't use them all...just Terrain really.

Merging BBAI is a little tricky, I did it wrong once or twice.

When ready you select VD as the MOD when you begin play, and BUG, BLUEMARBLE, and BBAI are picked up from Custom Assets more or less.

I have noticed long play times around that time period also, and I play MAX number of civs on the TERRA map...so watch out for slow turns half way thru the game! Prince Level and Marathon game turns!!!

Edit: I recommend the blood effect in VD also...don't use any new Leaders though. Now I am trying MEE...just haven't got that far yet!
 
Hi guys,

How are the is additional leaders working now? I havent played or followed Civ in the last few months but back for 3.19, the VD Leaders mod was bogging down and crashing in about the Industrial Age for many folks (me included, unfortunately). Has the patch or any of the changes to the mod solved this issue?

I found a graphic bug while playing VD 7.0. The unit knight of the American Indians (maybe Chinook in the english version) is only shown as three pink balls. I believe the graphic file is missed. I played VD with the leaders expansion. No other bugs found, great job!
 
Is there any other mirror other than atomicgamer? I've tried downloading it at least 10 times but the connection always craps out.
 
I have a question: In this version of the mod, do Civilizations still retain some of their characteristic architecture after entering the industrial/modern eras? I hope so!
