[Graphic Mod] Varietas Delectat v9.2 [civ specific unit sets]

Avain,

Could you include danrell's Portuguese Axemen with the next update, please?

Since you asked so nicely, I *might* consider. :D Nooo, just kidding, I'll include it. It must be I thought it's too similar to other units (and too medieval), but then there are other examples of this still, so no worry, it's gonna be in.

Update 1.7 is up.
I wanted to do a full version download but probably that will have to wait... so you have to go down the 1.4 - 1.5 - 1.6 - 1.7 path still, sorry about that.
Plans: any new units + probably starting ships - starting from ancient ones.

But: I hope I didn't screw up anything major with the update, 'cause I'll be on vacation until 09th Oct, only next Monday I can check back here me thinks.

So, hope you like the update even if I didn't have time to update all the screenshots...

Oh, and one more thing:
with the new patch (when it arrives) it seems that the unit button issue is resolved, meaning we can have a myriad of different cute little buttons for the various units here. And hence my request to you, motivated Civ Fanatics:
- anyone interested in doing this not so small (well, quite HUGE in fact) task is more than welcome. Think about the prospect: you can work for hours and hours with smallish little pictures, checking what is available and do what's not, and update the numerous file references in the unitart file!!! Now that's tempting, right? :)

You do a great job with this mod Avain.

Thank you. But I cannot stress enough that the praise is due to all unit artists here! Without their quality work none of this would be possible

I doubt this very much, the directory structure is wrong and the modular xml should ruin it completely, never tried it though.

Maybe with the addition of unit buttons unit creators will get into the habit of making a button to go with their units. But yeah this would be a huge task adding buttons for all these units!

Thanks for the help, and awesome mod by the way.

Nice to see someone making a mod with real diverse units, instead of that half-finished set that was shipped with the game:mad: Great work:)

I have a question though. When loading the mod and starting a custom game, it doesn't save my options from previous games (e.g. 'Choose Religion', 'Permanent Alliance', etc.). How do I make the mod remember my settings?

I wasn't refering to Tunesia either, but to that Beyond the Burqa link you had in your sig for a loooooong while. :mischief:
