Great People Female Versions

BTW I have one question, please. In last time I do experiments with units and some new (edited) units have parts which are in gAME invisible (for example leaderhead with transparency face or unit with new sword, hair but body is invisible. ) Know you what can cause it?

I made her a bit fancier than the princess with lots of shiny stuff. I used the explorer animations set for her, therefore her fighting technique is rather simple, but what she lacks in finesse she seems to compensate with brute force. She swings the large sword single-handed the whole time. :lol:

I think I'll stick to the fashion designer that The_J has proposed, because I already have some ideas for her. But maybe I can use Oprah as prophet. :lol:

Have you modified the units yourself or have you downloaded them somewhere? Are whole items or only parts of the items invisible? It could be that the alpha channel of the .dds file is not correct. Do you have a screenshot of the problematic units?

Oprah as prophet!? :lol: It isn't really far fetched either.

Wow! That Queen is awesome. She's four hours too late for Fairy Tale (I have submitted my next update to ModDB), but she'll be in my next update for sure. Finally I can replace the rather unsuitable Queen I have right now with this excellent peicce of work. Wow. You get better and better by the day, SaibotLieh!

My imagination was more Victoria like and not like Elizabeth, but that doesn't matter, it's a cool unit.

I edit some unit in long time. Problem is ot in dds. I post textures next time. I practice deformation of models in NifSkope. Old models are Ok but if I try edit some new models some parts become an invisible. For all examples face of excellent leaderhead model Joan of arc have in my game invisible (transparent mesh?) ...
I post pics and one my model, if you have time for my problem.

:think: I have no experience with leaderheads, but you can post your stuff anyway. Maybe I can be of help.
 
I really really think you should reconsider making an Oprah great merchant. She would be PERFECT for an American (female) Great Merchant. I'd say to still make a fashion designer (for European civs) but I think it would be great if you made an Oprah Winfrey great merchant. It would certainly fit well for the Americans.

In fact I haven't dropped that idea, although making units for specific civilisations isn't what I planned. I hope to make units for the original art styles some day, but not more. However, I guess Oprah could also fit for the middle east art style, which represents also the african civs as far as I know, so she's still on my list. :)
Anyhow, at the moment I'm occupied with a lot of Civ4-foreign stuff, so I don't know when I'll finish my next units. :sad: I hope it won't be too far in the future. ;)

And also I love the idea of Oprah as prophetess. Who else fit for the role? All hail O! All hail O! (my wife is going to kill me :lol: )
 
I notice the only two female names on the Great Prophet list are Joan of Arc and Sojourner Truth. Perhaps these would be a good starting point, if you need ideas for prophets?
 
Having SaibotLieh make a Jeanne d'Arc would be quite something! There is a good Jeanne d'Arc-unit out there. I don't remember who made it, but I used her in my Hundred Years' War mod. I'd really like to see your take on the French Heroine as well, SaibotLieh.

I also thought about Jeanne d'Arc for a Prophet, but I guess she'll be put to the medieval generals in the end. I didn't know about Sojourner Truth before, a very interesting person in fact, but I guess she is a bit too specific. The main problem with the Prophet unit in the end is that it has to fit to all religions somehow. A beardy guy with a plain coat seems to do so. At the moment I think I should go the same path with the female prophet (minus the beard of course ;)).

Well, the general isn't supposed to portray a specific person, but she's my first reference at the moment, so the unit might look a lot like her in the end.

The modern merchant became the fashion designer The_J suggested. Because I found it a bit asymmetric to have the ancient merchant be accomplished by a camel while the modern one stands alone I gave her a nice Ford Mustang. And because it would look rather silly to have her walk somewhere while the car drives behind her I put her in the car for the run animation:
