Great Writers/Musicians formula ?

Hi, I wondered what the formula for Political Treaties/Concert Tours was.

I think it's related to the era, or to the turn.

Also, I don't think it's related to the amount of culture generated the last X turns. I did the test : as Brazil, I used a Great Musician as a tourism bomb at different times after the end of the Golden Age (saved and reload each time). The amount of tourism granted did not change, while it should have, depending on the number of Golden Age turns included in the calculation (since Golden Age increase Brazil tourism output), had it been linked to tourism production over multiple turns.

So it's more likely that the Concert Tour output depends on the tourism you generate the turn you use your Musician.

But I have no precise idea. What do you think ?

Thanks in advance

Musicians are 10X your tourism output on the turn they're born; not when they're used. I've heard Writers are 8X your culture when they are born, though I can't confirm that myself.

So its totally useless to stack them. OK.

And do you know whether Great Scientists were changed so that, when lightbulbing a tech, they generate science accordingly to your output the turn they were born ?

No, for Great Scientists it is based on the turn they are used.
(Probably Great Writers too since the UI is the same as Great Scientist. Great Musicians have a different UI showing their strength as a unit attribute)

So you can stack great scientist? I thought they changed that.

Great timing. I just have had a very interesting experience with GW. I had one spawned, with about 700 culture from political writing maybe, then I kept him around and found out that for every turn, his culture increases.

By that time I was producing +300 culture per turn, and he increases his culture by +100 per turn, effectively meaning I was actually producing +400 culture, so why burn him? I just kept him around like a cultural investment.

After many turns he was at +24,000 culture, and I had 3 of these GWs. That was great. But then strange thing happened. I was building Cristo renderer, which would give -10% increase in future SP cost, so I started to "save up" SP by allowing it to overflow without selecting any. After a while I found my GWs start to LOSE culture, and A LOT of culture. By the time I confirmed this, they were at only 15,000 culture. Basically it means I lost 27,000 culture for saving up for Cristo renderer, not worthwile IMO.

So maybe it's something like, if ur culture < benchmark, then culture from GW increase every turn, but once it exceeds it, GW's culture decreases significantly. So be careful.

Only 15k culture? They're usually about 8x your cultural input and I rarely go above 400 in normal games. I remember reaching 1k once, and that would make a GW worth 8k culture, but I'm usually happy to bulb them at 2k.

Are you playing marathon or something?

Are you at the end of a golden age when it is 24k?

For GS it is... and probably GW too.

Yes, it is. That's why I prefer to use GWs for a political treatise when I'm eight turns into a golden age and/or hosting the World's Fair.

What about quick speed?

I don't know if it is the new patch thing, but the patch beta only gives 4 times of science and culture in quick speed. Nerfed?

From the Beta Patch notes: "Abilities of Great Musician, Great Writer, and Great Scientist now scale properly based on game speed"

8 to 4 is a little bit strange, since quick speed is 67% of standard.

Can some one confirm it is still 8 times in standard speed? Or it is reduced to 6 times?

I'm not sure how the calculation works for Quick speed. I tested an Info era game and at 10 science per turn, the standard GS would give me 80. At Quick speed I get 93...? (52 science into my first tech)

In my game, I observed that the Great Musician will have 6,7 x the value of Tourism, and the Concert Tour will produce 67% of this.
