Which of the three is it? I have played all, but 3 the least (only a few games).

My vote went to 2

Clearly Warcraft 3. Innovative, solid and balanced gameplay, tons of other spinoff games/successful multiplayer, and the most features and most modern of them of course.

I went with Warcraft 3 as well. I came to the series later and never got into WOW so that only really leaves Warcraft 3 which was quite enjoyable.

Only played Warcraft 2 for a few hours when i was a kid, but it was pretty cool back then even if I didn't understand it.

Especially making animals explode.

I played 2 a lot more than 3, but 3 is clearly the better game. The varied factions and hero mechanic give the game much greater strategic depth, not to mention the interface improvements.
Warcraft 2 still has the better soundtrack though!

Yes, it does.

And it is the best game in the series by far, it just did everything even better then its predecessor.

2,3,Sc2 all have exploding critters. (maybe sc1 too, can't remember)

Warcraft 3 without question.
I liked Warcraft 2 when it was new, but it always bothered me that both parties were basically the same apart from mage specialists and two or three different upgrades.
And I think heroes were a great addition to the game. Wish Starcraft 2 had something similar, but it's micro-heavy enough as it is.
