Guess the Map II: witty sequel titles failed me

Since Libya is the only one in the first category I guess it is the number of different colors in the flag.

wow, i knew that the answer would come from that particular country, but not that fast...

white are countries that i can't count the number of colors in the flag (the symbol is a mess in the spain flag) and or didn't take enough time to find the flag and count...

I promise Europe doesn't look that ugly on my original

Red: Countries that are Red
Blue: Countries that are Blue
Green: Countries that are Yellow

The question is what does svalbard (red) have that mainland norway does not (grey) ?

Firstly there are polar bears(probably not the answer).

Secondly there's coal(wrong because of Australia among other places).

Thirdly: Lenient gun legislation(not likely either).

And Hainan (island south of China) vs rest of PRC

Well, and the fact that it's a rather unique place, politically. IIRC, no visa to enter in theory, no requirement for a work visa.

Flying Pig, can we confirm that Hainan (the island just south of mainland China) and Svalbard (the islandsnorth of Norway) are coloured incorrectly? They do have types of autonomous status, but there's I can't think why Vancouver Island would be different from mainland BC.

Let's say that old war wounds can sometimes make mouse manipulation a tad tricky :-)

Svalbard is coloured correctly, Hainan should be part of China.

Rule: if a dependancy is coloured but the mainland is not, it's correct. If it's the other way around, it means I forgot it or didn't fancy colouring in every little 1-pixel island. I did try to get most of it right.

Not half as bad as these games consoles. Who the hell decided to simulate driving a car using your thumbs?

Is it something to do with the environment?

Nothing at all. It might be a little unfair to be honest, it's probably more likely that a British person will recognise the connection. It's something to do with a British institution (which is recognised pretty internationally), but nothing else links the countries together. And as everyone knows you get red from mixing blue and green.

Right, that's enough hints for now.

Is it countries involved in the Royal Society?
