Guess the Map IX: The Richese are no match

None of those. If you aren't aware, most of the Wikipedia articles about particular birds have maps such as this, so it might be worth checking those to see if a potential answer is plausible.

I guess this isn't an easy map after all. As another clue, the bird in question is a variation (in name and in fact) of a bird that is relatively common in all Western countries and which is prominent in various northern mythologies.

Hooded crow.

I assumed they would be present all over western europe.

The hooded crow, it seems.

PS:

Montenegro, Monaco, San Marino, Liechtenstein and Switzerland in Europe.

^You should enlarge the map due to the dot-countries there. I suppose one of them is Montenegro? :)
I've added a list to the post - I'm too lazy to resize it.

That's correct. :goodjob:
Thanks - I thought about them earlier but assumed they wouldn't be restricted to Ireland and the islands/highlands of Scotland.
I had looked through some sea birds to see if I could find it.

They are classified as pests here - anecdotally they have been known to peck out the eyes of newborn lambs.

Well that was embarrassingly quick - correct.

Well, 4.5 hours is very fast, but it's hardly the record. :)
