The low rankings of the least developed countries, coupled with the complete lack of it in countries with large stretches of desert leads me to think it's related to agriculture. Because China's leading the pack, it's probably gross production and not a per capita measurement and the fact that Canada and Brazil beat out other relatively productive countries like the US and Russia means it's probably some specific grain.

That game is kind of fun but there isn't much strategy because once you know how to beat it there is nothing else to do. Get parasite, sell the symptom, get all the climate durabilities, and it will infect the whole planet. Then start buying all the other stuff just to kill everyone faster.
