Guess the New Civs

I'm surprised there aren't more city-states in Africa. I'm glad they're adding Zanzibar, but a Gold Coast/Ivory Coast city-state would make a lot of sense.

Just curious...

Besides the "Attila's Court" city name and the fact that Attila is "on the cover" of the box art, has there been any official confirmation of the Huns being in?

I think that Attila's Court city was a city state because Carthage had conquered it and it had a mercantilistic city state symbol next to it

It was mentioned (edit: in an interview I think) they developed the fall of rome scenario to showcase the byzantines, celts, and huns.

Ed Beech, lead designer, mentioned them as a Civ in the game.

Is that strong enough evidence? :p

Damnit :gripe:

I've updated the map, but I'm not really in the mood to upload it just yet. I'll let everyone else criticize it some more first ;)

Maybe we should have UGANDA as a new civ? Their leader would be KONY and their UA would be +1 anger toward social media advocacy?

Kony has never been in power of Uganda and he's not even there anymore. Kony is certainly a bad guy, but the video is extremely simplified and distorted. The situation is much more complex than that video represented. Anyway, no, Kony is a terrible idea. ;)

Yea looking at the map you see how barren Africa is atm. I could see 2 African civs getting in. Ethiopia and Zulu. But I really hope the Zulu are ignored for once and instead we get the Kongo instead of Zulu.

As for the third spot I would love to see another South American Civ for once. Top two being 1. Chachapoya, 2. Brazil

If civs keep getting added to this game i'd expect to see at least another 4 in sub saharan africa.

East African: Ethiopia
South African: Zimbabwe / Zulu
Central Africa: Kongo / Lunda
West African: Benin (the empire, not the modern country) / Mali / Ghana (empire not modern) / Kanem

But i can't see this happening any time soon and i would really like to see Zimbabwe or failing that, Ethiopia :(

Since the devs like to try to have every civ play differently than every other civ, I suspect they'll add Inuit with some sort of bonus from snow, tundra and whales.

I actually would love a civilization that can live in the Snow, there's not a single one. Inuit could get a bonus of getting food from Furs or just.. Snow.. somehow...

Inuit? I guess it would fill out a currently empty area, and its not a huge stretch compared to, say, Polynesia. I think it would make more sense to give them a food bonus to coastal tiles adjacent to tundra or ice. Inuit doesn't really fit with any of the scenarios, or the religion or espionage themes, I wouldn't expect them in G&K.

But for a civ with bonuses in snow and tundra, why not Sweden? It would be nice for G&K, it would be nicer as a DLC pack with Sweden/Poland and a 30 Years' War scenario.
