I don't have baggage Tim. I've been posting openly as a fairly radical socialist on CFC on and off for 13 years. You were stupid enough to call me a Conservative and stuff me in a pigeonhole just because I am critical of feminism, for reasons I have been fairly clear and consistent on for several years. That's your baggage, not mine. Have you got anything interesting to say or are you just going to troll some more?

As to your history of radical socialism, what prompted you to so thoroughly abandon it this time out? I didn't just randomly pigeonhole you as a conservative for yucks, and I apparently didn't come to that conclusion alone. It was someone else who said you probably vote UKIP, and the only one who didn't just nod and shrug seems to be you. Maybe old timers who are more familiar with your previous appearances are wondering too, but none of the people who are usually quite happy to slap me when I jump to conclusions has told me that I'm misjudging you based on recent behavior.

I quite agree. But then i'm not making quite such a severe criticism of feminism as that.

My position is simply that feminist critiques no longer pass muster. Also that it is almost impossible to even say this without being dog-piled. As should be obvious.

Then make a specific critique of something a feminist has actually said. I've already stated I think Valenti is awful. As it is, you are simply criticising feminism as an undifferentiated mass. If I said that everyone in Britain had bad teeth and drank tea all the time, you'd rightly say I was generalising and not making a specific argument. So show me your specific argument. Which feminists are making these arguments? What arguments are they making that don't pass muster? Why don't they pass muster?

b) All I actually said was that part of the left has forgotten about class and economics and become obsessed with identity politics. I didn't offer any sort of critique at all, nor was I discussing it. In view of the results, i'd say I was spot on. Merely mentioning feminism negatively causes a crap storm and otherwise intelligent people can't tell friend from foe.
