So which type are you?

Mixed Handedness means that you use one hand for fine motor activities and the other for gross motor activities (sports for example).

Do you think that it has any relevence for the development of the different non-motor portions of the brain? This was partly inspired by the left right brain hemisphere thread. In an ambidexterous person the sections that control the hands are very close to equally good.

I can switch hit in softball and may actually be better hitting left-handed, but I consider myself purely right-handed.

I've always thought of myself as left-handed, but going by the definition I seem to be mixed-handed, since I do use my right hand for playing sports e.g. :hmm:

Left handed, mostly, but for the life of me I can't use a pencil sharpener or scissors with the left. I can eat with the right hand, and do a few other small things, but that's only because I broke my left wrist at age 9(which ran into age 10...) and stayed that way for like 12 weeks or so.

Right. They should teach children at a young age to use both. I think it's a disgrace to all left hands everywhere that they should be discriminated against in a society that preaches egalitarianism and evenhandedness.

And yes I'm sticking to my dayjob.

I am right handed. I write awful with my left hand.

I use my right hand for such things as writing, eating, drawing, and smackin' my ho's. In fact, the only thing I really use my left hand for is playing hockey (which I don't do much anymore).

 How wrong, WillJ!

 I was about to apologize for making somewhat of a sexist statement, then I noticed your *ahem* edit.

I'm right-handed, but my left hand is actually more dextrous because I play the guitar and cello [both left-handed instruments]. I still can't write with my left though.

I use my right hand for everything except Billiards. In pool I switch hands based on where the ball is.

right handed - the hand of honour! :)
