same here :lol:

Isabella has transformed into Brennus.

Play tomorrow afternoon.

In 1600 Cleo's furry warrior comes out the NE and the fun begins.

In 1575 the English finish the Colussus.

In 1550 found Gergovia to the SE and find another wandering Cleo warrior who promptly attacks our fortified warrior in a village, across a river, and burns it while her warrior in the NE ignores an unprotected worker and fortfies. Entremont expresses its displeasure by rioting.

In 1450BC that now veteran warrior attacks a fortified veteran spear in Alesia and captures it. It takes a spear to get it back.

In 1300 another Egyptian is inbound from the the NE. We get the gems mountain hooked up :dance:

In 1350 the Egyptians attack Handulodunum and this time the warrior dies. And in 1250 a Celtic regular kills an Egyptian pillaging warrior and gets covered by a spear.

Entremont is a little out of phase because I wanted spears to escort the settlers but with some more terrain improvement I think it will do a spear/settler in 6, while keeping the population at a more manageable 4-5.

Are the Egyptians coming from the north or the east?

I'd say hook up that iron and show them the proper way, getting us a GA with some many towns won't hurt

also, I would chnage Lugdunum to temple until we get masonry, change to palace, this time we make sure we get that damn GL

Egyptians coming from north and east of Handulodunum.

Roster:
Greebley - skipped until 7th July
Handy vacation until 10th July
Bugs
Rat
bede - just met Cleo's wrath
Romeo - up fighting back and getting us Celt swords
Matt - on deck

THeRat, You forgot Obormot. :p

Here is the correct order.

Roster:
Greebley - skipped until 7th July
Handy - on leave until 10th July
Bugs -
Rat - skipped first round
Bede
Obormot - UP
Romeo - on deck
Matt

EDIT In fact now that I reread Handys post, Obormot was supposed to be between Rat and Bede. :rolleyes:

sorry about the Roster, I copied from a post before Obormot joined, Take your turns and next round we slot you in between.

Want to emphasize again that we MUST change Lugdunum to palace (and for now temple) to get the GL, if we want to win, it is an absolute necessity. So, please do change immediately.

So it is my turn now? I'm a bit confused.
And what are our plans? I agree on switching Lugdunum to GL via prebuild, i presume we are researching masonry now (didn't have time to look at the save yet). Another question is our GA: it looks a bit early to me to launch it now, maybe we should build some archers/spears and launch GA after we build some more cities (anyway we still need to hook up the iron). I don't understand how Entremont can do a spear/settler in 6 at 4-5? Do you mean sharing the cow somehow or working cow and forests? It can produce settlers in 4, but i doubt that other cities will produce enough units for defence. I guess we need some exploration to see where we can build some more towns, it seems that there are no neighbors to the SE, judging from the minimap.
I'll play it in a couple of hours, waiting for comments.

I think the big Egyptian rush is still coming and we better get some Celt swords for defense (+ offense). The GA will help us in fuelling the GL prebuild, I rather have the GL secured than a later GA. A GL will help us pull out of the tech whole we are most likely in. I would try and explore all direction to spot best new spots to settle.

Masonry is due in 3, I think, so switch Lugdunum to temple and then palace. It can work nice tiles and make quite some spt.

oh, and yes, you are up, Obormot, sorry for my messed up Roster

In AW, you really don't worry about your GA. You're going spend it building military for the most part. So build those Gallic Swords and let's kick some Egyptian butt.

end of previous turn:
- sent a warrior look for city-sites to the SE
- increased science to get masonry in 1

1225
- Alesia: spear->spear
- Lugdunum->palace
- warrior near Handulodunum climbs on a hill to take a look, sees wines nearby and 2 more Kleo's warriors.
- research set to writing

1200
- warrior fortifies on the hill near egyptian warrior, spear fortifies near the other one
- Entremont: settler->spear, settler moves out to wine hills escorted by spear

IBT
- our warrior on the hill attacked and killed, Kleo's warrior redlined
- another egyptian comes close to Handulodunum, 2 more appear behind the lake

1175
- move another spear into Handulodunum, since it can now be attacked by 2 egyptians, move worker out of trouble

IBT
- egyptian warrior attacks our spear in Handulodunum, we win, our spear promotes to elite

1150
- Verulamium: worker->warrior

IBT
- more egyptian warriors moving towards Handulodunum
- English complete Oracle and SoZ

1125
- Entremont: spear->settler
- Agedincum founded->worker

IBT
- our brave defenders in Handulodunum kill 2 egyptians, a big egyptian stack is going to attack next turn

1100
- move another spear to Handulodunum

IBT
- we loose one vet spear in Handulodunum to egyptians, i should've changed barracks build to walls there earlier, it was a bit risky.

1075
- changed barracks to walls in Handulodunum, just in case another big stack comes
- lux raised to keep Lugdunum quiet

IBT
- bad luck: egyptian reg warrior kills fortified healed vet spear

1050
- Entremont: settler->spear
- Alesia: spear->spear
- spear moves to Handulodunum (now has walls)

1025
- iron hooked up, switch Alesia to gallick (expensive guys)

1000
- Entremont: spear->Settler

1000BC.jpg

It looks like egyptians are our only close neighbours and we have some space for expansion. Also we found a second lux. So our position looks quite good.

we got some bad luck with thr RhG, how many spears did we already lose to reg warriors, this is crazy. I would swap capital to a gallic sword before churning out another settler. we don't want to lose any town

Roster:
Greebley - skipped until 7th July
Handy - on leave until 10th July
Bugs
Rat
Bede
Obormot
Romeo - up
Matt - on deck

edit: guys, can you name the save handy18...not brennus...thanks

We need to build a force of 6-8 GS and march on Egypt. As a second objective, not to interfere with objective number one, try and peal off a settler or two to settle the west.
