Happy Birthday Cheezy the Wiz!

Why is there so much Greek in that image? Greeks are not known for being red all that much.

The Russian alphabet comes from the greek alphabet.

Edit: Oh and happy birthday your cheesyness, congrats you're older than me by 25 days.

The Russian alphabet comes from the greek alphabet.
Cyrillic characters ain't the same as Greek ones. Those are almost all (if not all) Greek. :p

I didn't say they were the same thing, but part of the Russian alphabet came from the Greek alphabet.

Wikipedia -

The Slavic scripts were developed in what is now the Republic of Macedonia (Glagolitic) and later in Bulgaria (Cyrillic). The earliest form of manuscript Cyrillic, known as ustav, was based on Greek uncial script, augmented by ligatures and by letters from the Glagolitic alphabet for consonants not found in Greek. There was no distinction of capital and lowercase letters, though manuscript letters were rendered larger for emphasis, or in various decorative initial and nameplate forms.[1]

And that's all I have to say about that. /ForestGump

Well, there was that civil war ....
...which did not end in favor of the communists. I'm also well aware of PASOK, and their probable rise in fortunes over the last few years. Doesn't change the general trend.

I'm guessing it suppose to be Cyrillic (maybe it is, but I can't really tell and it does look look Greek to me). Which kinda makes image less awesome.

...yes, I know, it's customary to use Cyrillic characters that are similar to those used in English as a kind of fake Russian, but the image just fails because it didn't even use Cyrillic ones, but Greek (yes, I know about Cyril and Methodius too)...which was what my point was. ;)
