Happy Ramadhan

Vegetarian lifestyles are not healthier than eating meat responsibly.

As I mentioned earlier, smoking and drinking alcohol reduce life expectancy even more.

Japanese people have the longest life expectancy in the world, and their diets are mostly fish.

Please educate yourself on nutrition before assuming that eating meat means you die earlier, which is completely 100% false.

There is absolutely nothing 'jerk-worthy' about stating that you eat meat, or when you choose to eat meat. Humans are omnivores and meat is a very important part of a healthy balanced diet.

Also pork is the leanest and healthiest red meat you can buy. Eaten in moderation, it is only beneficial to human health and in no way reduces life expectancy.

But I'll make a guess that you will completely ignore this valid information and continue believing that people who eat meat are going to drop dead by the time they are 50.

Ok, and you are choosing to wave the fact that it is Ramadan in my face when you are not required to state that fact. My level of courtesy shown is no more less or greater than yours.

And how is whatever I eat in my kitchen, in my house rude to you? I can tell anyone what I had for dinner, and I can eat whatever I want on any day of the year. How is doing so considered rude in any civilized society?

I apologize. I have obviously offended you in some way. Please continue telling me of the scrumptious feast you will have while I fast and berate me for my admittedly ill advised attempt at congratulation and pardon me if I retreat from this thread.

Why would you think this was an appropriate thing to say?

Welcome to the current state of Off-Topic. Enjoy your stay.

Anyway, yesterday I learned that in the Land of the Midnight sun the solution is either to follow Saudi Arabian time or follow guidelines set by local imams.

Happy Ramadan.

Why would you think this was an appropriate thing to say?

He did mention before that he has certain disabilities, so forgive him for he knows not what he does.

Why would you think this was an appropriate thing to say?

Why would you ask this question if you knew the types of medication that Mr Havv takes?

I'd agree it wasn't an appropriate thing to say myself, but Mr Havv would probably not think it inappropriate at all - unconfined as he is by the conventions that often shackle me.

Apart from when I'm feeling extremely daring, that is. And I think there's the remotest chance of it being funny.

It really would have been better to just ignore his original post since it was mildly offensive at most and calling it out had a Streisand effect.

:goodjob:

But that wouldn't have assuaged Cheezy's privilege guilt.

Ramadhan Mubarak! Such a great month and thanks God we live long enough to perform another fasting!

The years when Ramadan comes in the summer must be the worst.

Kul 'am wa enta bi-khair!

shukran katheeran! the longer and the harder the fast the happier the iftar! I guess most of poor people in this world experience hunger and thirst without Ramadhan, so it is a good time to contemplate and feel them.

This has nothing to do with my disabilities!

I am extremely amused how the mere mention of eating pork on a certain day of the year can possibly offend anyone.

An oft-repeated saying goes that crazy people would usually not be aware that what they are doing is crazy. Better to leave it at that, I say, and leave everyone to do what they think they need to do.

:(

Actually what I am doing would be sweet, beautiful blasphemy. I love blasphemy.

Moderator Action: You've already been warned to stop posting statements designed to offend religious people in this thread. You kept going anyway. Although this post isn't terrible by itself, your pattern of behavior in this thread is a clear case of trolling. I'm giving you two days off.

I believe this thread has shown me that I have learned nothing.

And that by itself, paradoxically, is learning a great deal.

Maybe.

Though, in the learning stakes, I seem to be moving rapidly in the wrong direction myself.
