Im a fan of the harry potter books this is a quote from the 5th book
only one piar was still battling, apparently still unaware of the new arrival.harry saw siriusduck bellatrix's jet of red light:he was laughing at her.
"come on is that the you got"he yelled ,his voice echoed around the room.
the second jet of light hit him square on the chest.the laughter..........it seemed to take ages for sirius to fall....as he sank through the ragged veil hagging from the arch
Harry potter-order of the phionix-page 710.
i have high lighted "jet of red light "and "second jet of light" this means it wasn't the killing curse which is green.

Plus doesn't say what was behind the veil so it could be a way to save sirius. They didn't have to corpse to confirm the death.

sorry for the spelling mistakes

i recon he's dead. sorry buddy but if dumbledore and others thought he was dead he probably is. wasn't there some explanation about what the vail was in the book? its been a while since i read it.
looking forward to new book and film. happy days!!! :rotfl:

You have wayyy too much time on your hands.:p

I agree he's probably not dead in a normal sense, more likew trapped in some magical land of the veil...

Dont think there was, found that whole incident a bit curious but couldnt find anything to explain the veil other than the folk that could see the 'dead' horses could hear whispering whilst the ones that couldnt see the horses were merely hypnotised by it.

Major spoiler material (for those who haven't read book 5 & 6 yet, or have heard rumours about book 7) below:

Spoiler :
JK Rowling has confirmed in an interview that both Sirius and Dumbledore are really dead and that 2 main characters will die in book 7...

Sorry kid, if Rowling kills a character per book she will make more money. She wants more money.

She needs more money? She's the wealthiest woman in the UK, believe me she's rich beyond her wildest dreams. I don't think money is her motivation any more to be frank, I think she knows how to keep people addicted though. Even if it's a little kiddish for me, I have to appreciate its popularity and therefore the skill of the author in giving people what they want.

I did like the films though, not the first one much but the last ones have been pretty good.

He's dead as a dead person could be. So is Dumbledore. Crying shame.

I still want Snape to win it all and have a spin off series. Don't see it happening though :(

It's almost certain, given what happened in book six and regardless of his true motives.

Doesn't mean I can't dream about the Snape's Big Adventure spin-off though.

Maybe snape could have a big adventure that happens before the HP books? maybe he could start off being a happy go lucky kind of guy just leaving hogwarts and then show an affair he had with lily potter ;) then showing why he became such a miserable bastard!

As long as the movie has Alan Rickman still, I'll be delighted.

Honestly, he's the best part of all the films, why does no-one else see how well my Snape's Big Adventure plan would work!?

Lol, that would be awsome just think:goodjob:

Harry, I am your father...:crazyeye:

Bright day
Good for you. I found the entire incident just ********, why couldn't he got taken good and proper? This was not good death for Sirius and it was really really anti-climactic.

Because then she'd have to lengthen the book with an overly big funeral, possibly also including the ministry apologising for their wrongdoing etc adding numerous chapters not contributing that much to further the entire story. Not really as ******** as you thought.

Oh yes, because character development i so superfluous, or treating your characters with respect. Plus it would have added only the funeral (ministry did apologize- offscene) which could have been done in less than half dozen pages.

Look, I know some people think mrs (it is mrs, isn't it?) Rowling can do no wrong, I enjoyed some of her books, but classical pieces of literature they are not.
