Spice in coffee, beer, wine etc is often meh.

As far as going too far, I think you would have to sail the pumpkin spice from Indonesia, formerly the Dutch East Indies, up the Indian coast, down the horn of Africa and all the way around the Cape, then back up towards Rotterdam. Nutmeg and cinnamon made the journey before, that's a pretty long route. Remember, no Suez, and you can't camel it across because we're not going to start enriching those Ottomans. Going the other way around, you might sail off the end of the earth.
