Hattrick

Hey , I won 5-1 against Dell19...
That's a good result for the rematch!
Beat this!

I doubt I can. That was my first midfield and we still got stuffed and now one of them has a slight injury so its unlikely I will play him in the second leg.

Hmmm....but there were no substitutions in your team, or???
One of my defenders is injured for 5 weeks, so I have to field someone else.
Except for 3 positions, this was my first team as well.
And probably form will go down because of stamina training.
We'll see on wednesday...

Why are you training stamina? Training stamina is for after the training update today or tomorrow and shouldn't have an effect on form until the training update next week.

I had one normal defender, I really missed my normal wingback which looks like it destroyed my team. I had my normal 3 IMs. I had my reserve winger who is decent and my second line of strikers who are all pretty crap. I had my usual goalkeeper.

You're right, I was a little over-enthusiastic about training stamina that early. When I decided to switch, I also decided to train set pieces to have a good form when the league starts, because the first match is already important (playing against the 4th which is one of two rivals for promotion). But AFAICS my cup rival is a WO, I might switch to the new defense training with playing 5-5-0 in the cup.

My plan is to not play my njured players against you since the tie is already over even though I should be able to win at home. Then MOTS the cup with a hopefully close to full or full strength team and possibly get through to the next round assuming I am playing who I think I am.

Oh, until now haven't seen that thread I myself am since a few weeks ( ok, two months or so) a regular hattrick player. My club is FC Velsu, my manager name Larth.
But well, I am still in one of the lower leagues over here in Switzerland. :)

Cool, good luck in the new season. You only have a weak coach though so I take that as an indication that you are not training. There is a guide at hottrick.org that you really have to read to learn about how to establish a training regime as this is the number one way to make money consistantly. I was told to read it several times but never bothered because the significance wasn't really pointed out.

Btw I won the second leg against socralynnek 4-2. Next time I hopefully won't have to play both legs with no team spirit.

Stamina training went well with one IM popping two levels to excellent. This week we are training short passing and will be trying to pull off a cup upset although it will be difficult.

Well, I am not playing really often. Just for fun then and now, so it doesn't surprise me that I could do better.
I even recently changed my coach... But I really will read that guide. when I have time... :)

There is a learning curve to hattrick where if you have the time there are quite large gains to be made and then to a certain degree once you've invested the time you don't have to worry too much about training etc until it comes to selling the players after they have popped several times.

Motsing in the cup? What a waste of your TS!

Why? The following game is away and my team doesn't travel well so I will lose it anyway. The MOTS in the cup might give me a chance of winning where my midfield could actually be stronger than the opposition's. Also the revenue and experience from cup games is significant.

And then what? Then you have no TS and your team loses horribly in the league, your supporters get pissed off and walk away? For what, a vanity in in the cup?

I looked at your opponent, he has a very strong team, so maybe even with a MOTS, you might lose. You don't have trained 3-5-2??? That would be a better chance to get more ball posession.
OTOH if he plays a PIC, then you have a good chance with MOTSing.
And I lokked at your next league opponent, he plays a very strange 3-5-2, because every player moved to another position (Attacker to defense or so) loses 15% of his strength, so if you AOW and don't MOTS in the cup, you have a good chance of winning there.

I'm in a very good position, a WO is coming to my cup-match tonight, so I can play PIC, play 5-5-0 to train counterattackpassing (or however the new training is called in English) and have the maybe most important macth of the league season in my stadium on saturday with a good team spirit.

Heres my thought process:

The cup game is only realistically winnable if I MOTS since this should give me an edge in the midfield. In the league game Sutton Reds train playmaking so I will lose out on the midfield whatever I do and so normal with pressing might be my best hope relying on my better strike force to do the business. The following league game I can PIC at home and should still win. If I do get to the next round of the cup then I will probably PIC that game as well.

Basically the idea is that I feel this is the more winnable game and that TS would at least partially recover by the time I reach the third game of the season. You are probably right but I've managed to convince myself so we will just have to see what happens. If I do still lose in the cup then it will probably indicate that you were right.

But OTOH, if you pick this one and the second league game, you've got a very high TS. That TS might even win you the first league game. BTW, if you want to rely on your forwards v.s. a superior midfield you should definately not play pressing! That's what counter attack is for.

What do you gain with an extra cup game? Some revenue, ok. But since you won't win the cup, I say you should aim for the league.

Sorry I forgot to mention that Sutton Reds, the team expected to win the league, have an away game against a better team so they will probably PIC their game so MOTSing against them would not give a huge benefit if we both have a high TS and TC has an affect on ratings as well.

Lost the cup game 4-5 to a questionable penalty and then lost the opening league game 5-1 after MOTSing the first game and then PICing the second. Not the best start to a season...
