Heart of Destiny

In the Civ3 Conquests title screen, there is a multiplayer option. Go to "Internet" and theres a lobby. I have the same name(Sword of Geddon) everywhere.

Some problems though: If you have Windows XP, theres a few things you have to do in order to let Civ3 play multiplayer....

Ok the mod is ready, but it is BIG.... I am wondering how to manage the upload. I will diffinitely clean out stuff that will not be in the mod(any stuff left over from the old mod). Any last minute requests? The mod could still use improvement in the Middle Ages. Yet I have heard no comments on this period.

Could you post a screenshot of the tech tree for the Middle Ages?

BTW, this reminds me of a ship from The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy.

You mean the one that turns into flowers and yarn and other good stuff? I fail to see the comparasion but oh well.

The Middle Ages tech tree looks the same as the Civ3 one, the only difference is that I've added three techs(Flintlocks, Naval Tactics, and Fundamentalism) and removed one(Monotheism). The problem is that it is the fastest age to play threw, and the AI has a nack for jumping threw it to the early Industrial Age. By the time I reach the Industrial Age, some AI nations will already be in the early Modern Era  . I am pleased with the new Ancient age, since this adds alot of playtime for Ancient times.

Maybe you could throw in some magic type techs and units to go along with the middle age mages thing. Or not, just an idea. May not fit the realism of the mod. I can't think of anything else.

Its not a bad idea per say Tjedge, but I had something else in mind, mainly more pre-Renaiisse Middle Ages techs. I also wanted to increase the size of the Imperial Age, (for that I'm going to look into the Age of Discovery and Napolianic Conquests ). ;)

The names are similar. (Heart of Destiny, Heart of Gold) ;)

 Now I get that remark. Man, and I just saw the movie and read the book this last week.

hey sword if you need ideas for techs, check out stephs mod, he has WAY too many techs, but you could borrow some of them. you might want to include SEIGE ENGINEERING as a tech (offshoot of invention (give invention "Florentine Cathedral" or whatever its called as a GW cause LEO is now in with humanism)), monotheism -> MONASTICISM (monastary increases science) -> CRUSADING ORDERS(which needs chivalry as well) and have a "crusade" small wonder for all civs in addition to templar GW, put music theory below education and put HUMANISM (put leonardo here) where music theory is and make that tech also required for democracy. do banking -> MERCANTILISM (give an East India Company GW/SW)(should also requires navigation) -> FREE MARKET ECONOMICS(which will have adam smith) and make navigation necessary for era advance. for physics, give us "leaning tower"

real quick, only for medieval ages or for all? and also, my suggestions are all based on the Far Horizons current tech tree, is that more or less what youll be working off of?

hi there i just downloaded and started using your expansion yesterday and i must say im very impressed. i love what you have done with it. the fact that more of the units are upgradable is great and the future units you added is just what ive been hoping for. there are a couple questions though. when you made the ranger and crossbowmen why did you take away thier bombard ability? its the best reason to have them. also the flintlochs and the iron frigates are great new units but with the flintlochs being at the end of they era and riflemen at the begining you really dont get much of a chance to use them, its the same with the frigate and iron frigate the advances are so close you never have time to use the frigate before its time to upgrade. i havent played all the way through a game with the new tech yet so im not sure but according to the tech tree several units in the middle ages no longer upgrade. like beserkers, mideval infantry and nothing upgrades to the gurellia for some reason. think you or someone else will ever add a jet bomber to the game? its always bugged me that you get WWII bombers and fighters then jet fighters but there is no new bomber untill the stealth, should get the B-52 when we get the F-15 imo. well thats all of that for now once again thanks for a great addition to the game.

ok you are looking for ideas for the middle ages and imperial era eh. well how about an alchemy tech. it doesnt really need to give you anything it can be a filler tech like refining is. you can make it where you pick up saltpeter instead of finding it with feudalism like you do now. how about the discovery of hot air ballons. not sure when that was exactally but im pretty sure they used spotter ballons in the french wars after the muskettiers. you could add a diplomat or trader unit at this point, maybe a diplomacy tech for establishing talks with your neighbors. how about a naval academy that produce admirals to make fleets? one thing ive longed wished they would put in the game was the ability to make canals. i mean it sucks when you have a narrow strip of land or several next to each other that keeps you from travaling across with out a city bridging it. it would be great to make canals like the suez or panama to cross those, it could be an advanced engineering tech in the industrial age. i am drawing some of my ideas from call to power II as i loved playing that as well. what about sonar bouys to detect subs. in the future tech what about underwater tunnels to connect land masses. i think subs should have a bombard abilities, so they can take a shot and run. i dont like having to fight it out everytime. im sure i will have more questions and ideas as i play farther through this but thats all for now. oh and thanks for slowing the game down, now at least it takes a bit of time to get through the ancient period.
