I agree with those saying you should have grown your capital.
You already had more workable tiles than population points, so it was senseless to whip the workboat.
At size 2 you could have worked the gold mine + the pigs = a few hammers and a lot of commerce!

creating the work boat was a waste of hammers because you already have two food resources to grow quickly. I would grow to size 3 working the gold and then start building some warriors and settlers as soon as possible.
