Yesterday while playing a earth map, I managed to complete the holy mountain quest but was typing at the time of the popup for the quest and missed the entire popup and list of rewards after a really long game, if anyone has completed it or can list the rewards from it, or even better a screenshot or know where to find info about it, would be grateful.

Boy is that ever a lot of work for +1 happiness... Trade for some sugar or something already and save yourself building the 22 religious buildings and locking yourself onto one religion for umpteen hundred years.

It's a luck thing. Realistically, you can get that reward by being fortunate enough for the holy mountain to be right outside your current borders, and getting claimed by a border pop without any work on your part. That's how I did that quest, and learned what the reward was, after all.

Definately worth it most of the time IMO. Even if its a long way away, you settle it and liberate it to the nearest civ after getting the +1:) in all cities.

hah! in order to get the bloody mountain i had to build a SoD, attach a settler to it, declare war on charlemagne, get gilgamesh to join me by bribing him with a tech so my border was secure, steer the SoD between 3 of his cities till i got to luxembourg. capture it, raze it, and build a new city a tile away to get the mountain in city radius. for +1 happiness!!??

You could've just roasted him completely and settle the ashes?

This quest is just poorly designed. As mentioned above its more luck/random then a quest, making it more like a regular random event. If you get the mountain by happenchance after the quest, then great, otherwise your unlikely to see it.

Twice I've managed to build the buildies to reveal the location. Only thing could of down was build on a near by island and pop a great artist. The second time the mountain appeared on another continient, on a lan-game. One of the players had the map for that entire landmass and we discovered the mountain tile was surrounded by someone elses culture and that it would fail as soon as one of those cities grew in culture.

IIRC, the quest fails if someone else has it settled which makes your story unbelievable.

Either way, I said most of the time for a reason.
