Hermetic lore for FFH DI4 (not for use outside this game)

I think Comillo would have to do a bit more than change his mind and destroy the Crown in order to be made a Champion of Kilimorph. For destroying such an artifact, why Kilimorph?

A question I was pondering myself.

If the assassination contract brings joy to Camillo's heart, who is Tali to refuse him that? Kilmorph would have been better served appealing to Junil or even Agares for help in foiling Mammon's quest.

Give me some time to think on how Tali would reply, but for others whose actions might hinge on his answer, it will surely be negative.

@ Champion: Good point. Make it "Favored", not "Champion".

@ Tali: I knew you wouldn't help... I'm just appealing to you in order to cause tension when you refuse me.

Let me put it this way: is there any god or goddess who wants tofoil the assassination? Simply because he takes the job doesn't mean he'll succeed, if there's a divine intervention. (Tell it here, not in main thread.)

I would very much like that assassination to succeed. And so does Tali it seems. If anyone has a stronger claim on the Gerranites and/or the Hippus than the two of us, let them stop the assassination. Otherwise, I think it's time for the Hippus to descend into despair at the death of a beloved prince. And despairing Hippus might be willing to accept "an offer they can't refuse"...

:mwaha: :mwaha: :mwaha:

Oh, this will be great.

Again, don't get me wrong. Tali doesn't care whether or not the assassination succeeds and will not intervene to assure its success. He simply wants Comillo to go.

And with the loss of a prince, not only will their hearts be filled with despair, but RAGE.

The Hippus are under my watchful eye. If nobody wishes otherwise, the events that I would prefer would be:

1) The assassination of the Hippus Prince succeeds
2) Comillo is captured in the process
3) The Hippus have a smoking gun with a Grigori name on it.

He will then have the option of disavowing the adventurer, or taking responsibility for him. If he disavows him, he will have the option of rescuing him anyways.

The more deceptive he is, the more he wins in the end :)

any protests?

I'm afraid I must. I gave my word that Comillo would be returned safely, and he will: promoted as an Assassin as well, unless he changes his mind.

While I will not object to 'smoking gun' evidence, Comillo will be returned. I would, however, also suggest you add in a "lie like the devil" option, perhaps with an Esus-supplied alibi... for a cost, of course. (And if Esus supplies the evidence against Comillo in the first place... well, Comillo should be in the god's favor, really.)

How about the assassination take place during some conspicuous occasion? Like the wedding itself? Any objections to that?

I think I'll write up the draft of what happens this weekend, and edit as gods speak.

How about this - He IS in fact safely returning, but the smoking gun evidence exists and the hippus claims they have captured him, and Gerran must make the decision under the pretense of capture.

His actions will be revealing, and it will be even more fitting because he himself will have been deceived.

If by "claim to have captured him," you mean "blame some other person in a test of whether Gerran will own up or not," sure. But Comillo will go safely back to the Gerranite capital, and Gerran will know.

Actually, I know this is your event, but I had kind of figured your "temptation" scheme ended with the choice as to whether assassinate or not. After this, I would love to use the event for something (the consequences of the assassination).

I don't think even the "smoking gun"-thing would be nice; Comillo is a Calabim vampire, after all, racially speaking, and it's not like he'll say anything else and drag the entire Gerranite empire into war - if he's caught at all.

I want the event to end like this; Comillo goes (Verdian already decided this), is eventually delayed by some good god's attempt to foil the plan, but reaches Prince Solidor on the wedding night. Seeing as it is in Hippus lands, there are no vigilant Bannor guards, only the Hippus guards. It's night, and they're all sleeping. Solidor is in a hut with his newly aquired wife. Comillo sneaks in, kills them both, and leaves.

The two civs are outraged but do not know who to blame; they are tied to eachother (although not at strongly as if the marriage had lasted till Solidor became king obviously).

The valiant House Solidor succumbs to despair and the family that the Gerranites helped has a rise to power. Their methods are, as is already stated, less noble than the Solidors...

You see that's actually not what I meant at all, but it's clear to me you have decided how this will play out, already, so just go ahead and write it up however you prefer.

I'm fine with that: bravo, in fact. My sole stipulation at this point is that Comillo will be returned safely, success or fail. After that...

Well, I didn't stir a hornet's nest to bid you all not to do anything. ;)

Flattered as I am, I'll pass. You're in this for keeps, I'm afraid.

(Well, not really. Hardly anything I could, or would, do if you dropped out.)

I think at this point it needs to be made plain: this thread is strictly out-of-character.

Represent your respective deities' wishes strictly in third person, please, and confine poor behavior to where it's appropriate in the IC thread.

There is absolutely no reason to be stirring up agitation between the players. Behave like the adults you are, please.

I've just posted the corrected save. Please have a look.

I left Comillo with held and added Crown of Command, but my personal view is that both (ie. the Crown and Comillo himself) should be removed till the end of the round (according to Verdian's narrative). It is up to Dean to make the decision.

I also moved Swamp of DDagorrlad (hope it is OK with you, Thomas?) and revealed the maps to AIs (to prevent map exchange and motivate Verdian/Gerran to explore 'manually')

Feel free to make your changes.

If someone has time - crash tests will be appreciated. I tested 10 turns - went smoothly. Mokka spawned east of Grigoria, I was not aware Mulcard added him, but it's fine. It is a chellange for Gerrian and additional temptation to use the Crown.
