Hermetic lore for FFH DI4 (not for use outside this game)

hey... If the dragon left....

What if we add a weaker version of him, and make it his decedent? A -25% promotion should be sufficient to make the dragon seem weaker, we can use the same Red Dragon model...

Would make sense. A lizard's bound to get bored, sitting there for hundreds of years. Maybe he found some girl dragons...

Sorry ravus, but i think the embodiment of all the spheres i kind of extreme.Mayby you could make it your dragon from the godswar?
[sory if this has already been mantioned, i skiped a page:blush:]

Yeah it was a bit silly. Went to big idea wise. I'll leave the multi dragon huge skeleton thing alone. Dunno what my precedt Dragon would be... Chaos Dragon? Sounds strange. What would it do? Cast Wish? Naw i'd just have it as Aerons Dragon and have it as a vampire dragon for kicks. The Idea of a Dragon feasting makes me chuckle.

Dean; yeah sorry i assumed you wanted the merchant added later. And you didn't secify in the pm about finnigins un-cursing. Should have remembered tho. I'm sure Lgaard can do it.

Sure.
[...] and unfortunately, Dagda overrules all in the end.
Hey, what was that suppose to mean? ;P
Seeing how the story goes I see no reason to police you too much. I'm very happy to see you are discussing here and the transparency rule is kept. I hope it is for benefit of the game.
TBH, I see this particular DI game much more interesting than average (just see our (well... yours + Verdian's) narratives - how great they are). I'm sure we are doing great job here.

Of other hints:
I really like how you use existing nations/features/characters in your stories, and how the story evolves. I strongly believe it is much more fun if the player feels the consistancy of the long term actions as oppose to 'short-term-quest based' stories.
True, I'm against changing too much the map he has already explored, as it may destroy consistancy, but it is the story which is of the ultimate priority to me. As long as any change is to contribute to the story, and is consistant with the convention Vardian uses, go ahead! However if you do, prepare an interesting narrative to that. Mind how much attention Verdian puts to psychological aspect of his characters and other subtle aspect of the story. Be subtle too. It's the part of his convention.
1) Give Finnegen Medic I and II. (Would this let him heal in the wild again?)
2) Make both dwarven nations follow yours truly, if they haven't already. Set the Dragon's city to RoK holy city. (Oh, plot line! Laagad, you OK with me taking over?)
3) Add the Blackguard Dwarf: Fallen paladin with many promotions who'll be rampaging around. No plot for him, just there to add flavor.
Fine with me. Note 1. is no longer needed (Mammon has withdrew his curse) and 2. Ered is no longer a dragon city (at least not a permamant stay for Acheron), but it could be RoK holy city, good idea. Founding RoK now is definitelly a good idea, otherwise Kurios (or other bastards) could beat dwarves in this race. How about spreading RoK in one of the cities (per dwarven civ) so they can adopt the religion without granting technology?
Same goes for FoL. Due to war both elves are now at the very bottom of the chart. I'm sure their economies need a boost.

Sounds fine to me. Lets see what the peanut gallery has to say first though

Sounds fine but needs lots of narrative to explain!

I have no problems with that. And I gave him Hero so that he would appear as a single person, if there is tanother way to do that, please do it.

Just bump his level up to 15-20, hero won't have any real effect then.

Dean....perhaps a little, but I think we've all learned by now....that's how you roll. :p

I had to laugh at that one!

Ball: Rhymes:
1 syllable:
all, aul, aull, bawl, brawl, call, caul, crall, crawl, dall, daul, drawl, fall, faul, faull, gall, gaul, gaulle, grall, graul, hall, haul, kall, kaul, krall, krol, kroll, lall, mall, maul, maule, maull, mol, nall, pall, paul, paule, paull, pol, prall, rall, raul, rawl, sall, saul, schall, schmall, schnall, schwall, scrawl, shaul, shaull, shawl, small, spall, sprawl, squall, stall, tall, taul, thall, thrall, wahle, wal, wall, walle

And, of course, Bhall.

It's a challenge.

Edit: for other people, mind you. See how many of those you can put together!

Now, Diamond can write a mean epic poem. Though Diamond's far too modest to admit it without being prompted.

 I consider that prompting me :p

Spoiler 13 :
Who's the meanest God of all?
Mammon! Mammon!
Who made the Grigori fall?
Mammon! Mammon!
Who made Gerran beg and crawl?
Mammon! Mammon!
Who's made Danalin his thrall?
Mammon! Mammon!

Without a brawl,
by a single call,
did he scrawl,
the largest haul,
(of) souls that maul
down any wall
to only stall
(in) home, his hall.

Who's worse than Fallen Bhall?
Mammon! Mammon!
Who's the meanest God of all?
Mammon! Mammon!

No. There are no female dragons for Acheron to mate with - and one barbarian dragon is enough!

Huzzah to Diamond! My heart is aflutter! I want that talent!

Alright, so on my part, Finnegan still needs to be un-cursed, and a Great Merchant added to his location. For simplicity, name him Oparr the Underhanded.

I think I will add the Prophecy in Galveholm for my first edit. Though it would probably have a greater effect in Archeron's city, that's the Ruins of Kilmorph holy city now, and I may not interfere with other gods's followers. Also, I think it fits better in Galveholm lorewise. I'll also be giving Gerran a quest.

Put it in Sheaim city. Barbarians are spamming more units, but these tend to die eventually, so the net increase in AC is ~0. Additionally Ered is a desert city, so production is scarce and unit spam is lower than average.

Well DiamondEye just shot down part of this with the no female dragons tibit. But Erebus is based on Dnd right? I'm sure theres something like a half dragon in that. Perhaps use some lizardmen and label them Half-Dragons for some extra lore say its Acherons son. Not sure if it would bbe biological son or magical heir or whatever. I'm just throwing out an alternative.

Acheron now has two cities :p as myself and Mammon conspired to make him a greedy little lizard so now he has two hordes and sleeping cities and between them his own little empire to rule. Makes for fun narratives. The City he's in currently is Templarum and the Holy City of the Order. The One to the East is Ered and is a lost city of the dwarves so it may be set up as the holy city for Ruins of Kilmorph.

Personally i'd say for this game don't go for just best effect, go for what sounds coolest when added to a story. Hope you didn't mind that i brought the Shiem in as mercenaries in the Elf War, i'd written that part before i realised someone had picked up Cerdi (and thus the Shiem). Currently i had plans to be a pest but not a enemy to the Shiem as a constant reminder to Tebryn that he will end up back in my vault being tortured if he fails his task or dies. I can drop it now that the Shiem have a sponser if you like?

So who wants the honour (work) of writing up the narrative to explain the Pyre? From the sounds of it no one cares to much that it was moved as long as it is explained. I'd offer to do it, but i would want to say it was the mysterious teleporting pyramid for a month. Use Sah on his Griffon being able to see it move around sprouting fire in the lands as it goes kind of thing.

I like the Sheaim mercenaries in the elf war thing. It's an easy and sneaky way for Tebryn to add some destruction to those forests. As long as you are not too much of a pest to the Sheaim, I don't mind.

Thanks, glad you liked it! But don't give away the plot to burn those green forests down :p you'll get us in trouble with those goody two shoes gods. Naw it would mostly be narrative stuff. Dreams for Tebryn. Perhaps Stick a Chaos Maruader who tortured him in hell on a mountain near him to just stare at his city. Cheeky stuff like that.

Neato, less work (i mean honorable writing) for me.

Apenpaap, I think it would be marvelously delightful if you put the Prophesy of Ragnorak in Acheron's new city. It's both an unusual and interesting twist as opposed to the standard 'Sheaim build Prophesy and span units', and it forces Junil to raze the city like he said. :p

There's no reason you can't put the Prophesy in any city you desire: after all, the gods of good are just as much member to the End as anyone else.

Also wrote my update, btw.

Orcish Holy City of Order driven by Acheron the Red started to forge the Prophecy of Ragnarok.
Nuclear meltdown alert on.
Fun.

Sure, go ahead. Tebryn could use a little reminder of the consequences of failure.

I'm still trying to decide if the Prophecy should go in Galveholm or Archeron's city. Both have their benefits.

Interesting stuff going on here....the story is really starting to come together.

@Lgaard.

Don't neglect the comment after that, which was to the effect of it's a good system....so you have my full support. :)

Aww. Now, no charming me just to talk me into doing your bidding Mammon, it won't work* :p

*This is of course a statement based on current facts and might change.
