V12 add Gods and Kings support and works with religion and spy system.

Installation:
Download the civ5mod file from this thread, and put it in this folder:
My Document\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Mods\
Then start Civ5, select MOD in main menu, wait for half a minute and Civ5 will install the mod automaticly.
Now you will see Heroes of Three Kingdoms(V12) in your mod list, check the green checkbox and play.

New Features:
Add a UU/UB for each warlord so they have 5 UU/UB in total, and some warlord has 3 UA now. Some weak wardlord like Sun Quan is strengthened this time.

Bug Fix:
Fix a bug that will grant FAME repeatedly when completing world wonder

Hero System:
In general, the strength of heroes was reduced but the Skills/Stratagems are cheaper to use now.
The cost of early national wonders are increased.
Remomve most Unique Override bonus except Lv Bu and Zhou Yu.
Heroes Skills/Stratagems no longer cost experience, instead, skills need to Cooldown for a few turns after each use.
Heroes 3d model looks like normal units now.

Policy:
Only keep the modification of the tradition and freedom branches, other branches are revert back to original.

FAQ:
1. Can't install automaticlly
Rename Heroes of the Three Kingdoms (v 12).civ5mod to .7z and extract it here:
My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Mods\Heroes of the Three Kingdoms (v 12)\

2. Play with Chinese patch
If you want to play with Chinese path, download the civclub Chinese patch here:

3. Play with other mods
Now this mod can work with Ingame Editor and Info Addict.
Using other mods may cause crash.

4. Game crash or deadlock
Check FAQ3 first.
And if you are using an old XP system, there is compatibility problem, so Win7 is prefered.
Make sure you delete old version of this mod, and have Gods and Kings expansion.

5. Missing DLC
You can play with limited feature when DLC missing, some UU/UB will not be available and can't use advanced game setup.
If civ5 crash when you load game, you can setup a game first, and then load your save without return to main menu.
Because some art_def tag are updated in game setup for those 3d model in missing DLC.

One question: how did you make your alterations to UniqueBonuses.lua work? I've tried changing that file and setting it's VSF to 1, but the game doesn't seem to recognize my changes at all.

It's not about VFS settings

The point is you need to override the entire game setup UIs to make it works, only modify UniqueBonuses will not change the default game UI, so, create your own game setup UI and add an entry at Custom Games, check the UI and Scenario folders of this mod for some sample code
 
Question: this mod can be played at any speed other than standard? It looks very interesting but it is just too fast for my liking. I want to take my time in having fun with those heroes and everything.

i use epic speed and even added the mod that stops it at medieval times for research

New Warlord Units:
Warlords can work like worker or fight like great general, or join city as a specialist. Besides, they can build great person improvements or commit great person missions or found a city.

Bug Fix:
Fix the bug that cause duplicate of some Hero and warlord
Fix the bug that game speed not working in scenario games, also in Red Cliff War, events will happen in turn based on the games speed selected
Fix the bug that the game crash when using allure in city
Fix the bug that Hero Skill may cause negative damage
Fix the bug that AI worker Hero can not build GP improvements or cities
Fix the bug that some Heroes can use Skill with weapons from destroying GP improvements

Balance Change:
Every warlord now have 3 UA
Hero Skill can leach life after kill as normal attack
FindBook now works on Holy Site instead of Citadel
Remove city attack penalty for Heroes
Increase the chance that AI Heroes using Stratagems
Reduce the chance that Hero can recover from Buring or Confused
Reduce cooldown of Hero Stratagems
Disabled fighters, bombers and missiles
Strengthen some Hero Specialties

Policies:
Tradition and Liberty cant open together. Liberty can speed up national wonder prerequire buildings, and can buy Hero with gold.

Besides original bonus, adopting Liberty will provide +100% [ICON_PRODUCTION]production when building monument, library, colosseum and barracks.
Besides original bonus, adopting all policies in the Liberty tree will provide +100% [ICON_PRODUCTION]production when building market, workshop, university and opera house, can buy new hero with [ICON_GOLD] gold from tarven.

Survivalism Heroes and Scouting Heroes become beliefs, new policies in Tradition focus on Capital production:
Legalism: Palace output double.
Oligarchy: production and +2 [ICON_PRODUCTION]production in [ICON_CAPITAL]Capital.

For other policies, restore a free policy for piety branch, and grant +50% Skill damage to Heroes with Honor Finisher.
 
V15 ChangLog:

V15 merged with History of the Three Kingdoms(V3) MOD, with completely new Techs/Units/Buildings from the Three Kingdoms period.

Change Uranium to War Elephant to make this MOD work with old scenario maps

Techs and Eras:
Add 3 new Eras:Era of Rising Heroes, Era of Fallen Emperor and Era of Red Cliff War
Move national wonders to earlier tech

Promotions:
Remove some promotion from History MOD
Add some Hero promotions, Heroes can gain Hero Promotion after Blitz or Logistics that strengthen Hero Skills/Stratagems

Policy:
Each branch of Policy will foucs on one area. Royal Court and Official Selection can't open together. Royal Court foucs on capital growth and Official Selection foucs on expansion.
After finishing 5 branches, you can build the Restoration of Han Project and get Emperor Xian. He can make enemy Heroes to fight for you.

Balance Change:
Each point of unhapiness reduce Hero Might and wisdom by 1.
Reduce damage of Hero Skills and increase effect of Hero Stratagems.
You can no longer hire new Hero in Tarven when you have more Heroes than Wonders plus Cities.
Some Wonders can strengthen Hero Skills/Stratagems.

i see the History of Three Kingdoms on steam, and i see in a previous post that they are merged. Does this mean that they are now the same mod?

The History of Three Kingdoms on Steam hasn't been updated since Oct 1 and doesn't have any content from the merge. Hopefully that will change.

We're about to update it on steam - but the Fall Patch is out, which may break mods:crazyeye: Give me a little bit of time to test the compatibility
