This is the internet. It's cool to hate rap here. You probably won't find many people capable of offering more than 1-2 sentences about why they hate it. And when you attempt counter it, they'll just repeat the same 1-2 lines worded slightly differently.

It's kind of like trying to talk about playing video games to a bunch of people who don't play. They think it's all GTA and bright lights with no games having any reedeming values. They get all the information on the subject from the evening news or the idiots they see gathered around the stuff in public. Refusing to acknowledge that this view might just be even slightly distorted.

Argueing with these types of folks is an exercise in futility. Trying to get any information into their heads is like banging into a brick wall over and over. Actually it's slightly less productive since their heads tend to be between 20-30 times harder than diamonds.

rap is a release for these men and i havent seen Ice Cube or Ice-T killing any random crackers lately so.....er...bad point

I hate "gangsta rap" but i started listening to rap when it wasn't about slangin' rock and pimpin' hoes.

I remember Boogie Down Productions and agree on your judgement over "gansta rap". As Missy Elliot put it:

I don't know, I'm hardly an expert on rap. I do know some folks that could probably dig up some info, but music never been my primary area of interest. I have however noticed this pattern of rap-hating on the internet over and over and see these conversations go on many times.

I started as pretty neutral third party on the subject, as I just didn't care that much. But every time I see the same lame 1 sentence answers from the rap-haters with very little substance.

Frankly the post I’m quoting looks very familiar. 1 line. Little to no substance. Heck, it's borderline flaming and frankly obvious trolling. Heck it's just a slightly more articulate version of "Rap Sucks lol".
