Hitting Liberalism in the BCs

Oh, I'm impressed all right ;)

It's just better to save liberalism for a really good tech if you are so far ahead of the AI.

@Jman5.Ive been playing around with getting LIB in the BCs for a couple of days and come to the conclusion that if your not playing a PHI leader then going the THEO route is quicker using the Egyptians UB(although i would use CRE Hashy for the cheap librarys).View attachment flyingswan BC-0250 Hashy LIB.CivBeyondSwordSave

Main problem i found with Shyhu,s method is leaving the oracle till turn 90+(games ive been playing it can go turn 75(especially if Isabellas about),if you go the Theo/paper way you can oracle EDU turn 80ish(even if you play a PHI leader and manually tech THEO)

As in Shyhu,s save i reckon 3 rather than 2 citys is best, and the leader he picked-Liz is probably the best leader for getting LIB in the BCs.

If you start building the oracle before anybody else researches priesthood, it decreases the AI priority for priesthood and prolongs the window for the oracle.

Interesting. Does that apply to all wonders? And does that include if you just put 1 hammer into Oracle, then leave it waiting while you switch to building other stuff?

thanks, thats a great tip:goodjob:,I was struggling with the CS/paper route(playing as Sully),kept missing the oracle by a few turns(or worse)I had a feeling the solution was going to be a nice civ gem that you would never read in a manual.

Unless Isabella is your rival... She builds Oracle early & chooses Monarchy :(

As with Lib - I try to get it as late as possible. First to discover Meditation, CoL, Phylosophy (and Theology) is very good for this.

Forget prophets and Theology, the Civil Service path is much faster.

I've been playing on Noble a lot. And I think the CS path is really the strongest and the most reliable route. Max your HR+Bureaucracy+Academy capital to the food limit, and it's really hard not to get 150+ beaker by 1AD. (I'm on the safe side here. It means virtually any leader can get it.) And with that, you are way beyond any other AI on Noble and can just have fun. Personally, I'd delay lib way later for Steel when I'm ready to cannon everybody else out. But I recently noticed that Cuirassiers are much better in blizzard wars when your opponents just barely have longbows.

Here is a shadow game I just played. No where near the lib yet but strong enough to defense and for a later kill.
