Hm... Asked to write an article for a newspaper. Any ideas?

Thanks.

May i translate it into Latvian? The text is great, but not many read in English at the level you write. You have many complex words there, and the average reader of my blog is like 28 years old female with one BA.

Don't underestimate power of words :)

You have several very beautiful allegories there. Okay, i'm not going to convice people in late 20s to start reading piles of books, but they may reconsider if they have done so in the past! :)

Supposedly a second article (again around 500 words) has been accepted and will be printed in a week in the same newspaper.

Let's see

Nice. I really look forward to reading it. :)

I got offered to write 12 A4 pages for 15 euros for a fashion magazine. It's rather ridiculous, my mentor from Writer's Union told me not to take such offers seriously.

A small update:

Today my third article was printed in that newspaper. While the first was in general about 'reading', and the second was an overall view on the library programs running (no details), the newest one is about Philosophy, and centered on Heraklitos and the Ionians.
The title is "Between Miletos and Ephesos", and alludes to the physical border of the regions of Karia and Ionia, which is the river Maeander, with its characteristic spiral-made-of-right-angles shape. It is good that they accepted this article, for i can use it as an ad for the library new circle as well :D
