kinda pressed for time. so unfortunately i can only provide a summary.

i only played 10 turns. directed workers to build up najran. focusing on cottages on the FP's for the extra cion. lost no units. started 2 settlers so we can settle when ready. building couple axes. barb sword showed up, pillaged farm N of nagran. since archer is fortified in city and all the bonuses, he should be able to hold the barb at bay. regardless, have axe SE of nagran. couldn't get him there any faster. monarchy is in, started sailing. been running binary science. work boat finished, was sending him around our land to see if maybe possible link to other contintents/island and other civs. got one fogbuster in place and could send the axe that is approaching nagran to fogbust and we wouldn't have to worry about barbs at all.

okay, sorry for the lack of details but i gotta go now.

i wasn't sure which would be best, then reasoned we are trying to expand right now. this costs :commerce:. cottages still give us the food but allow us to make some some:commerce:. when our :commerce: situation is a little better we could switch.

anyone is welcome to change it. that was just my thinking at the time.

I agree with the cottages as we are limited to how big we can get so that makes the most sense right now. We can always change it later or just add the odd farm too.

Did someone mention cottages. Pigswill see if the GS will give us a tech we can trade with JC for. I was going to look at the game but you beat me to it. Got to get going so can't look until later.
 
One minor detail I didn't pick up on my first look; even with tile reassignment we're running at -2gpt on 0% research with 30 gp in the bank. Might slow down our research. I'm even thinking of disbanding some low xp units (we certainly won't be upgrading any time soon and axe/archer vs mace or even praetorian is not good).

so we have 15 turns to get a positive cash flow. disbanding some units that aren't being used will help. unless we get attacked... not many options here. if we don't disband they'll disband themselves, right?
 
Anyway,just finished. Interesting 15 turns for little happening. First thing I realised is that we're in HR and need units for happiness. However managed to finish sailing and set out on code of laws. Bit of a challenge on 0% research. Also minor detail of no culture in a few cities so no border pops. But apart from that no problems
Went through each city maxing commerce. Long and short of it is that we're now on 20% research and breaking even. Whipped a couple of libraries, mainly for the culture at this point. Building a few lighthouses. Used GS for academy in Mecca, thought this would be more useful than burning him/her on mathematics (no trade value there).
No barbs. Jules still sniffing around. Islam FIDL in 1214.

'Nother minor detail. Save now over 500k limit.
