If the Saharan nations irrigate their territory and sow the land with plant life and create a stable ecology there, they are not getting ripped off if Australia decides not to engineer their interior lands. In fact, terraforming is much more easily done at a localized level, so you only have to deal with a limited number of variables.

But if you want to talk about actions that do effect external nations, we would be happy to see you start compensating the rest of the world for all the pollutants you dump into Earth's oceans and atmosphere.

We simply don't have the resources available to undertake such a gamble, and we will not be forced into underwriting the USA's risk taking. We hope your experiment is successful--but we expect that our method, dollar for dollar, will end up far more efficient.

China announces a Fusion reactor for spaceflight

China, noting the ineffeciencies of rocket propulsion, today announced that it would be pioneering a project to produce a sustained fusion reaction onboard a space vessel, and use this extremely effecient form of energy to propel Chinese fleets across the stars. If there was such thing as a fusion powered car, it would have a mileage rate of about 7,000 miles per gallon, compared to an ordinary gasoline powered car (rocket powered, in our case).

Fusion is also highly easy to provide fuel for, as all it needs are special types of hydrogen, and lithium. The only problem with fusion is that it needs to operate at extremely high temperatures, but stable fusion reactors on earth have already been acheived, the only problem now is to translate these into propulsion systems.

you have obviouslly not even skirted over the US proposal, other then reading the title- we have no intention, nor ever did of any "local leval' terrforming- that bull**** for the intention of terrforming Mars as the goal- because to even have a start at localized terraformign, you have to undergo global terrforming to make the planet as earth like as possible. its not liek I have have a mile wide patch of brethable atmopsohere, green plants, and bloe waters beside your mile larg epatch of red barren desert. it dosent work that way.

as you should well note, the United States no longer dose any of those. we use hydrogen fuel cells, powerd up by solar charging facilties for the majority of our energy for need for those devices that cannot be linked to the power grid stemming off of both hydro, thermal, and solar power based generators.

Chinese Orders:

- spend 2 eco turning our Outpost into a Base, on the moon.
- Spend our bonus eco and invest it into our project: "Warthog" - specifics to be PMed
- spend 1 eco establishing a Space station
- begin a fusion propulsion technology project (dont invest money yet)
- Send a manned expedition to Mars, using 7 Shuttles
- Use the remaining 5 shuttles as directed -
5 shuttles are to go to the inner asteriod belt, and investigate possible safety routes to travel through.

- Incourage settlement on our Moon Base, show the great job oppurtunities that are created there, and the oppurtunity to do service for the party.

Tokyo Times - July
AST&D has begun the costrution of the worlds first commercial spaceport, contructed in two sections, the launced pads are located within the mountains in the center of Japan and the runway is being built on a large area of reclaimed land of the coast of Tokyo. This grand project has gained the support and backing of the Japanese government, however concers have been raised over saftey.

LA News - August
Two days ago the president announced that both shuttles launced from Forida in Feburary have landed on Mars and have begun construction an outpost this comes as talks on the possible multi-national terraforming of Mars continue. The US government also released infomation stating
that they had already begun sampling Antarctic algae, mosses and lichens, to find out how well they will grow in the Carbon Dioxide rich atmosphere.

Minsk Today - September
The Premier announced that the Russian Space agency will be sending a manned mission to Mercury in an attempt to colonise the planet, this announcement comes just 5 years after Russia succesfuly landed a man on Mercury. Due to the Radiation and extreme tempeature on Mercury scientist only predict a 40% chance of success.

Cassablanca Times - September
For the last 3 days large numbers of people are calling for the
government to merge with the United Islamic States of Maghrib, many
demonstration have occured and one had resulted in a riot that needed to be put down by the military. The government has made no statemnet as to the cause of these dmands but some analysts belive it may have something
to do with the UISM.

Wasington Post - October
Late last night the President and Prime Minister of Austalia, finalised an alliance between the two nation, in exchange for useage of American
space facilities Austalia has supplied the USA with 500 Infantry and 50
marines as well as a lump sum of money.

On the 12th of October an AST&D lunar base was raided by an unknown
party, these troops killed 130 AST&D men with the atackers losing unknown
ammount of thier own number. The attackers escaped, suspicions are begining to point to China as it is the only other nation to be know to have a sizable force on the moon.

Tunis News - December
With the unfair government of Morroco using unjust violence on its people the UISM army entered to liberate the Morrocan people, there was a small amount of fighting from some division but total casulaties on both sides was no greater then 1500 men. In other news all AST&D intrests have been seized in Northen Africa, the UISM is the second nation to do this.
