HOF Mod Support/Suggestions

Specialist stacker was a problem a few months ago too ... was that one ever fully solved? I just stopped using it, so I don't know.

I stopped using it as well. I couldn't assign specialists at all because of it, it would gray out the plus and minus signs even if I had the requirements to assign a specialist.
 
I saw the problem right away in GOTM25. But, now its gone. I'll try to reproduce ASAP.
Here is the combat-odds-python-variable problem:

It seems to be related to retreat-odds, which is why I didn't see it when I quickly looked last time.
 
One suggestion: I think it would be nice that the f4 foreign leaders tech trade screen also tells the number of techs the AI is willing to trade before "we have feared you became too advanced". I never keep track of this thing, and it would enhance my tech trading strategy.

It's not possible to track this value exactly, because there's a random chance of an increase each turn.
 
actually there is a random chance that it forgets a trade each turn - and this would be something that I'd definitely put into the spoiler category since there is currently no way to know this exactly and so far this Mod has made sure to only show things that you can know from other sources in the game...
 
I apologize if this was discussed previously - I did an unsuccessful keyword search but can't read all the posts.

Is it possible to add an alert when new resources are available to trade to the mod?

And if this is already in there, please let me know where as I haven't found it yet - hope it's not a stupid question.

I think this has come up before. At the time, I shied away from trying it. With the new alerts, I think I understand the trade data better. It might be possible. I will put it on my list to look at next time.

By the way, there is another reason why I press F4 every turn. I thought this problem had been solved before(?). The problem is the "new tech for trade" alert comes up 1 turn late.

Example, a new turn starts. No techs alert. I visit F4 tech trading screen and think, "oh, Hatty has Calendar already!, she didn't have it the previous turn". I move my units, press enter to end the turn, a new turn starts and I get the alert "Hatty has new techs to trade". I visit F4 and the only tech Hatty has for trade is Calendar.

Thank you for your ever ongoing efforts! You make the HOF more and more enjoyable. I can't play without the HOF anymore.

:hmm: I moved the check to the Main Interface for when the turn numer changes, IIRC. It seemed to work correctly when I tested it. Maybe your computer is just too fast or something. :mischief:
 
Today I made the mistake to toggle the language to "German" in Map-Finder. The translation was so bad that I decided to walk through the file and adjust the translations. Please take the attached file, remove the .txt. extension and replace it - the current translation is really bad :cry:

It remembers me when I read the 1st user guide of a handheld phone produced in Japan and somehow translated into German, English and French. Everyone had tears in the eyes :D

But no problem - you should replace "Babelfish" with "civ-community" for further translations:cool:

Too fast? No way! Does it work ok in your (or other's) computer?

I noticed it happens with defensive pacts too. The turn I get MilTra nothing is said. Then I trade DP with one AI. Press enter. A message appears saying I now can trade DP with other AI.
 
Sorry to bother you again:

I can run MF and it saves all right, according to my rules file, both for BTS and Vanilla. If I visit the directory with Windows Explorer, I can see saves form both versions. But when I open MF, it only shows the Vanilla saves, not the BTS ones.

I have noticed some threads about viewing problems with MF under Vista OS. But I have no Vista.:confused:
 
I started a game and I notice now, that my 4000BC autosave is older than my actual 4000BC save. Is there any way I can verify that either save is valid for the game I am playing?
 
The current BtS Gauntlet Beta-8 requires "Tiny Islands" to be set. "F8 - Settings" shows "Archipelago" twice, once in the 1st line and once in the middle. I assume that the 2nd one should display the map-subtype. Is it possible that MapFinder ignores this setting when generating a new map? Or does "F8 - Settings" don't display the Map-Subtype?
