Too fast? No way! Does it work ok in your (or other's) computer?

I noticed it happens with defensive pacts too. The turn I get MilTra nothing is said. Then I trade DP with one AI. Press enter. A message appears saying I now can trade DP with other AI.
I really don't know, it works for me. Are you giving it enough time to display messages between hitting end turn? Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

Sorry to bother you again:

I can run MF and it saves all right, according to my rules file, both for BTS and Vanilla. If I visit the directory with Windows Explorer, I can see saves form both versions. But when I open MF, it only shows the Vanilla saves, not the BTS ones.

I have noticed some threads about viewing problems with MF under Vista OS. But I have no Vista.
Try downloading the latest version (1.7) I think it fixes the issue with the menu option to select your civ4 version.

I started a game and I notice now, that my 4000BC autosave is older than my actual 4000BC save. Is there any way I can verify that either save is valid for the game I am playing?
I suppose you could submit them both. We can tell which one to keep when we check the submissions. We don't really have anything else that compares saves to make sure they below together.

The current BtS Gauntlet Beta-8 requires "Tiny Islands" to be set. "F8 - Settings" shows "Archipelago" twice, once in the 1st line and once in the middle. I assume that the 2nd one should display the map-subtype. Is it possible that MapFinder ignores this setting when generating a new map? Or does "F8 - Settings" don't display the Map-Subtype?
MapFinder doesn't change the settings anymore than manually selecting Regenerate Map would. All MF does is call the same C++ Function you get when you hit Regenerate. Just faster than you could. ;)

I have never really paid that much attention to the subtype on F8 before. I would think that if it has Archipelago as the subtype that that is probably what you have. It is a valid subtype, IIRC.

I know that and I proofed that "Tiny Islands" is set before hitting "launch" and nevertheless both strings say "Archipelago" even the map itself looks "tiny islands". So it may only be a display thing in F8. I just feared that after playing the gauntlet the saves will get rejected due to wrong settings. So it seems there is no chance to verify map-subtype settings after launching the game.

I guess that's something to look at for next time then. (I hope that wasn't something we added.)

Cannot assist you with this info because this was the 1st time I checked this. I assume this is the 1st gauntlet with a required subtype.

I suppose the easiest way is for me to just open the 4000BC save and see if it is the game I'm playing. But, if I do that, will it invalidate the game, anyway? I don't want to finish this game if I forgot to save the regenerated start.

It's okay to open the save to see if its the correct one, just don't make any moves.

Hello!

I've got the problem with loading current Civilization IV GOTM (save filename: civ4gotm25adventurer.Civ4SavedGame).
The message box says: "The save file you have selected is protected to ensure that the assets in your mod folder have not been changed".

My configuration is:

1. Civilization IV patched to 1.74. The game is installed in standard loaction (C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4) on NTFS partition.
2. HOF-1.74.002 mod
3. 32bit Windows XP SP2 on HP nx6125 laptop (AMD Turion 64bit, 1,5GB RAM)

I've already tried to uninstall the game, remove any registry key with "civilization" or "Firaxis" and install the game again - but the error remains.

Could you tell me what is the solution?

Welcome to the Hall of Fame! :band:

Try the AssetsChecker at the bottom of the second post in this thread: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=252216. It can tell what assets are different.

You probably have the wrong DLLs. BTS 3.13 changed the Vanilla and Warlords one. They are linked at the top of the same post as the AssetsChecker.

Thank you for a warm invitation and the solution.:)

Yes, you are right - I had different CvGameCoreDLL.dll file. I've replaced original regular Civ4 1.74 C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Assets\CvGameCoreDLL.dll file with the one from Civ4_BtS_DLLs.zip Now it works.

So correct me if I'm wrong:

Someone who created this GOTM for regular Civ4 has BtS expansion pack installed in fact.

They did it quite consiously, hense the zip file with the new DLLs. Otherwise they would have had to create different savegame files for people both with and without the BTS expansion. ;)

Yes, enough time, I am one of the slowest players on Earth.

No luck, I already have MF1.7, build 2885. Should there be a menu option for selecting versions? I can't see it:

Do you have Warlords? I think there is still a bug if you have BTS but not Warlords.

On BTS8 Beta gauntlet turned up that on BTS you cant selfvote anymore without artificial twiddling. Can this either changed:
1) impossible
2) changed back that its allowed as before
3) add warning message that voting is coming so that I dont have to manually count when it is coming and bump myself over the self vote edge.

Id really like selfvote allowed for it would be same in vanilla/warlords and at least if you can go around it with artificial means its stupid and has nothing to do with playing skill (oh yes you have to stay on the edge long enough but thats hardly a problem in diplomatic game (religion: do not spread to all cities, both: check no growth for many cities, gift city and capture it back in few rounds)

I agree that in a way its stupid that you can win diplomatically with own votes but you have to have quite high pop% to get it. Still you can be seen the rightful ruler for majority of people.

I have put up a new version of the AssetsChecker (v2.0.1) and MapFinder (v1.7.1) with fixes for Vanilla and BTS only installations.

@jesusin, I know you had that problem with MF but I forget who else reported the Version menu problem. Hopefully, they will see this.

Thank you!!!!! :goodjob: It works all right now.

I would like to pay back some of my debt with you.

So I have taken HolyHandGrenade files and improved the Spanish texts. Is there anything else I can do for you or for the staff?

Another way of handling this (desastrous) situation would be to treat it as a bug. I imagine the way it was intended was to make autovoting impossilbe, so the check and the voting should have taken place simultaneously.
