It gives a different message for that though, as I had that problem too. ultamatly I had to reinstall the game to get it to work.
I noticed this behaviour too.Dr Elmer Jiggle said:The cultural border expansion warning is something they added in the HoF mod. I didn't write that code myself, so I'm not sure exactly what would cause it. I've noticed a similar problem with the city growth warnings when you have "stagnate growth" turned on, but I doubt that's related.
Nice idea, but I normally don't play OCC - so switching off this message means switching it off for ALL citites - not only the one causing the problem.Dr Elmer Jiggle said:One simple workaround might be to just go to the options screen and turn off that warning for a while.
Ok - I will do this - thxDr Elmer Jiggle said:You should probably report this in the HoF mod thread. It does sound like a bug.
I thought I'd fixed that.HolyHandGrenade said:I don't know if this is reported already, so here it comes:
I am currently playing HoF-Mod and I don't know if I am doing something wrong or if I just trapped somewhere but after one of my cities reached "legendary" status I got the message "<cities> cultural borders will expand next round" each turn. What must I do?

Ouch. Then the other possibility would be changes to the installed assets, which is most easily fixed by uninstalling/reinstalling as lost_civantares suggested.lost_civantares said:It gives a different message for that though, as I had that problem too. ultamatly I had to reinstall the game to get it to work.
Your can run this utility: "http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/mods/Civ4AssetChecker1.3.zip". It can tell you what's changed. You didn't install CivScale by any chance? It changes assets files instead using custom assets.aurum said:Thanks, but what I don't get is how the assests got changed in the first place. It worked fine then started giving that error...
Denniz said:I thought I'd fixed that. Are you using HOF Mod 1.61.004?
Could you download this utility:Raosekh said:When I start a new custom game (Pangea/Asoka/Lock modified Assets) I am alerted that "The assets are different from a standard install. Contact the HOF staff."
I have a un-altered install, HoF, and MapFinder installed. HoF is installed to D:\Civilization IV\Mods\HOF-1.61.004.
Have you used CivScale? That's one of the usual ways. If you run the asset checker as Denniz suggested then it will tell you exactly which files have changed.aurum said:Thanks, but what I don't get is how the assests got changed in the first place. It worked fine then started giving that error...
HolyHandGrenade said:This was is 1.61.003. I didn't read something about this problem in 004 Release Notes so I assumed, that it is still there. I will verify it in 004 ...![]()
I fixed the legendary one. I didn't know about the blocked one at the time. I will get that one next time.HolyHandGrenade said:I just tested the Alert about "city will grow next turn" when "city growth" is blocked in city screen and it still gives this message. I haven't played til "legendary" yet but I will inform you as soon as I have news![]()
