HOF Mod Support/Suggestions

hm...I'll try. I had played some custom games before installing the HOF mod, and I had a couple of the 'unusual request must terminate' errors before going in and starting a custom game again(which let me get into the actual game) however, I had that error just as I was about to start a custom game...it had already loaded the game.

I'll see if maybe it reset the .ini game settings again just to be sure.
I know that Gyathaar has been fixing BTS crash bugs since it came out. He hasn't stopped with the release of the HOF Mod. I think there are a couple more pending the next release. 3.02 wasn't a real patch. So first patch is still outstanding. ;)
 
yep, it crashes only when I try to launch a game using the HOF mod and every time thus far too...it runs smoother than vanilla or Warlords does otherwise with no crashes(of course, I've never had crash trouble with any version, not even v1.00)

I don't think I needed to patch to v3.02, I got it in the states, it came pre-patched.
 
that's probably it...told it to look for updates and it found 3.02 for download. Don't know why it didn't come with it...seeing as how its only supposed use is to synchronize the european and aussie verions with the US version, why do we still have to patch to it? lol without it both versions were synchronized already.
 
argh...you'd think that would have done it. But alas, it still crashes right after I tell it to launch the custom game while running the HOF mod.
 
just to update...its only the HOF mod, both Gods of Old and Next War load fine, as does the plain game. I'll try redownloading the HOF mod...maybe I messed something up when I downloaded that new HOF settings file.

edit: deleted and reinstalled the HOF mod...it still crashes right after I hit launch, after setting up the settings for the gauntlet.
 
Let's ask the usual da Vinci question ... who has gotten the BtS HOF mod to run successfully? I have not tried it yet.

will do....I could have sworn it said v3.02 though on the menu. Worth a try though, I miss using the HOF mod :(
the picture you posted shows that you have (had?) 3.00 btw...

I think reason they released 3.02 immediately, was that they released 3.00 in US and 3.01 in rest of world

I guess it is possible that the exe file didnt get updated properly with the patch though.. try to browse to the BTS install dir, rightclick Civ4BeyondSword.exe, seløect properties, then click version tab
It should say : 3.0.2.94
(the picture of the crash you showed displayed 3.0.0.84 )

Check the ini file and see what the gameoptions say.. if it says EMPTY, then replace it with 23 zeros

If I understand what Gyathaar is saying about this, maybe playing a non-HOF game (or at least setting one up) AFTER you patched up to 3.0.2.94 might help? I suppose the all zeros advice is supposed to do the same thing ...

You might also want to run the new asset checker. You might not be getting good installs. You can post you csv file here.

I am also wondering if it is worth turning on logging. You have to change your CivilizationIV.ini file.

There is a logs directory under My Games in each Version's folder. You can send us the Python*.log files

Still no change, I get that same error each time I try to play using the HOF mod only. The weird thing, is that it isn't crashing when I load the mod...it loads the mod perfectly fine. It only crashes when I hit the 'Launch' button after setting up the custom game settings for the gauntlet.

logging turned on, and running asset checker right now. let's see if it figures out the problem...

actually, from having all the logs open in notepad++, the only one updated after I hit launch is pythonerr2.log, so I'll upload that one right now, if there's any others let me know :)

So far I haven't seen anything that tells me what's going on. Please send any other of the log files that changed. Did you have to update you directX at some point like everyone eles? Any problems there? Also, could I see your HOF-3.02.001.ini file?

BTW, a lot of the HOF MOD doesn't come into play until it loads python when you start a game. From the on file you sent, it is dying before too much happens.
