Holographic disk due next year

Should be in computer talk.

I'm calling fake on this one. It's a blog. Advertising products. Doesn't seem right to me.

Reminds me of the IBM Bernoulli Box! Looks awesome!

well DAMN!. I'm not a "compute rperson" and so dont knwo what to make of it really, but it sounds damned impressive. kudos to science!

It's real. It appears that a 300GB version will be availible for sale late next year, at least that's what the press release says. I care more about the price though.

So is this planned obsolescence? Why are they making a 300GB version to be replaced by a 1638GB one? People should just wait until the 1638GB comes out.

Can't see it becoming very popular anytime soon. Honetly, a dual layer DVD provides more storage space than the vast majority of people need.

Ah, scientific rush is such an annoyance. You buy DVD burner, next year you throw it to waste, thanx to new and improved media.
Anyway, good news.

I have an RCA Selectavision VHS VCR from 1979 and it works like new. No need for DVDs in my book.

damn, i am surprised, I figured that stuff would be comming on cheap micro hardrives, not Super Floppy's

Data DVDs, I got sims 2 on 1 DVD instead of 7:D

Also I just relized this makes The Wong Library from futurama possible. It had 2 disks and the largest collection of literature in the western Universe. And as of now the first Gen HoloDisks can hold a halph million 300 page books each.
