We know that in sci-fi series like Babylon 5 that when a being or a race achieves certain enlightenment and advancement, that they will "Hyper-Evolve" or "transcend" beyond their mortal bounds. Shedding their mortal bodies and become being of light and energy unconfined by age. In the series, humans are more than a million years from this stage. However, certain humans achieve this status much sooner and indeed perhaps some in our present time.

I Hyper-evolved too far and had to start over

i thought Sheridan's transcendence was because of his relation with Kosh, not because of anything he had managed to achieve by himself.

And then there was Ironheart, but he had been experimented on by the Psi-Corps, so I wouldn't say he achieved it on his own either.

Ignoring the Deus ex machina of Lorien, I'd say that the only transcendence in the series happens when the civilisations reach a high enough level of technology.

We're quite a bit away from any kind of mind-upload, but optimistically it's not that far into the future. Another 50 or 100 years perhaps?

If you look at humans as a whole and then on genius type of individuals in any field you can see that being ahead of its time is something fairly usual.

I will give it couple of hundred years before we will be able to observe qualitatively higher type of being consciously evolving out of the regular humankind.

I've already hyperevolved but nobody else seems to recognize it. :smug:

I've been hyper evolved since July 5, 1998.

What's keeping you pinks?

I've read Joseph Chilton Pearce's the Biology of Trancendence, and I can confidently report that I don't qualify in any way.

In fact, I can't remember what he said. Maybe security of the mother during pregnancy, and of the growing child, being a prerequisite for enlarged temporal lobes, or something.

How can you improve upon perfection?
