How good is Aristocracy really?

The reason its not allowed for main events at RB is they want a single level playing field - and at the end of the day, someone playing with BUG will have an advantage over some without.

The reason for EitB is simply personal preference on the developers/contributers part. (I agree btw).

Oh and Sareln is now back active on EitB btw.

Oh and btw EitB balances cottages with aristograrianism better.

since all players are going to use the same version anyway, I fail to see the problem. Especially in an MP environment where turn timers mean you want info to be readily available.

Sareln thinks the BUG interface is cluttered and provides information you don't need constantly visible to enjoy or do well at the game. I agree. FFH already has enough icons on the screen conveying information without needing to display data you can easily access under other menus, and even with AI improvements, EitB is easy enough even on high difficulties that BUG is hardly a necessity to enjoy the mod and consistently win.

To the best of my knowledge, very few people play EitB, or FFH in general, in a real-time MP environment. It's not a very stable game, and the number of interested, active players worldwide can probably be counted on one hand. For PBEM games, you don't need BUG to plan ahead.

well ok, I disagree but I see where you're coming from.

I still think it's a terribad idea to base eitb v10 on an obsoleted version of more naval AI just because of that though.

I'd be very interested in v10, but only if it were based on the latest available version of Tholal's work.

Is it possible for EitB to base itself off of the latest Naval AI mod and still remove the extra UI clutter?

There is no problem :)
If someone turns up at RB wanting to play a MP game with BUG, and there is support for that, no-ones going to stop them. :)
There's just never been a time when thats occurred.
Feel free to start one yourself, though. There haven't been many FFH games since mist/Bob left. ;)

If you meant for the tournaments, then its because a level playing feild would mean EVERYONE would have to download and use the mod.
Thats why (generally) mods aren't used.

Besides, AFAICT there haven't been many changes to more naval because Tholal's been focused on including BUG/other mods (revolutionaries?).
