How in the world do you compete with a non-financial leader?

But if you try same tactics in Epic or Marathon...

If I try same tactics on Epic, I'd be in a much stronger position even yet. Capturing capitals are so much easier when my units get there BEFORE their defense tech can do anything about it. I just don't have the patience for epic, and it rather feels like cheating (cause it really is).
