How is your EU3 Game going?

The Maldives are tiny - I'm impressed you've done so well! :)

That's a matter of perspective, considering Vijayanar are probably three, maybe four times larger than I am and I've spent two hundred years digging this grave with a spoon only to be cut throat and speared, then cast back into the ocean I crawled from by some wannabe India.

Not that I'm looking at my upcoming demise negatively, mind you. Should the Vijayanar Heresy wipe my tiny merman, island hopping confederacy clean of this disgusting planet, I'll play my next game as the Vijayanar themselves and aim to do better (Or perhaps just differently) than the computer Vijayanar this time around.

That you can actually take on Vijayanagar and the rest of India, for two hundred years, is still pretty amazing. Empires rise and fall, it's natural. Most empires in history don't last that long. :)

I suppose you're right bu as yet I haven't had a proper war with Vijayanar, just a few clashes which I've usually come off worse in.

Still, I'm looking forward to getting stuck in.

Why the hell is castille embargoing everyone all the time? That's such a :):):):):) when trying to establish a good diplomacy

Castile has a center of trade, and countries with centers of trade are extremely sensitive to successful traders... Apparently, they do it to make sure nobody can dominate the market and reduce competitors available(and thus tolls collected) Doesn't make it any less annoying, however.

Yeah, but most of the time I don't even have a freaking merchant there. It's only castille that's embargoing me.

The World in 1539, immediately after the ruler of Mecklenburg was proclaimed King of the Germans.

Germany12.jpg

Commentary. The newly-established Germany inherited from Mecklenburg her North American colonies - namely, German Canada and Greenland. Castile expands in the Americas by taking over native states. The Timurids are gone, replaced by a Persia. The long time dominance of Ming over South East Asia might soon be coming to an end as her subjects break free from Chinese tyranny. Great Britain has formed. France is absolutely terrifying. The Ottomans seem like they might collapse soon, and a resurgent Byzantine Empire has reestablished itself in Greece. Bits of Lithuania are being nibbled away by Moscowy and Bohemia - maybe it's time to take Danzig for ourselves?

The Reformation is in full swing. Germany is Protestant, as are Bohemia, Austria, Bavaria, and... no one else really, apart from a couple of my vassals. We face hostile and potentially belligerent France, Britain, Castile and Milan to the west, hostile and potentially belligerent Sweden in the north, and hostile and very belligerent Lithuania in the east. Lithuania should hopefully soon cease to become a serious menace. France however...

I'm willing with all my might to have an AI controlled Maldives take even one other territory, I don't know what my obession is with that pathetic chain of islands but I do wish they'd have a bit of ambition and try and do something with themselves.

Haha! Nice! Was that the AI or you Phrox?

AI, I was Venice.

To be fair, that was probably the weirdest game I ever had (and yet one of the best). IIRC, the pale blue on the screenshot is Flanders who emerged from the ruins of Burgundy to become one of the worlds major powers (only to form the Netherlands about 5 years before the game ended).

The final world map:

Among other things Portugal inherited Spain. The aforementioned Flanders/Netherlands ate most of Germany, Poland, Denmark, parts of Sweden, India and Australia as well as a bit of Eastern Siberia. Russia was a monster and my main rival by the end (they even took one of the Swahili provinces - I suspect just to spite me :p). Brittany not just survived but did some colonisation in the far east.

And here are some more odd screenies from that game:
Greece and Asia Minor in 1415 - at this point I hadn't even touched the area:

Hahaha! That's awesome man! I love seeing minor nations make something of themselves! Or even just major nations doing something ahistoric. Who's the clay coloured colonist in Africa there Phrox? Is it Aragon?

There's been quite alotof dramatic change since I last posted a screen of my Milan/Italy game! I managed to defeat both Austria and France in a war and Burgandy took swift advantage, the year is now 1704 and it's looking alot different in Europe!

I plan to take some more of Austria and seize some of Burgandy before the game is up. I would like to see France totally destroyed as well, i've never acheived that before. At current I have 100 prestige and are thus #1 place so am in no major rush to do anything hasty!

Im playing Pommerania so far, and through luck and sheer stupidity I managed to get 4 vassals and 5 new provinces. Most of the time others declare war on me, the Teutonic Order protects me because of their guarantee and me and my vassals wage a war of attrition. I wonder how long my 'luck' will last, as my kings and their heirs seem to suffer from insanity .. Ill try to post a screenie later.

Oh and those 16 bad boy points dont help at all :(

Despite the bad quality of the map, it should be easy enough to tell who I am. Especially because the year is 1545 and a certain speck still stains on the map. My colonies are in black as they didn't show up well. Pleanty of oddites on this later start than the norm. Norway smashed Sweden, France and Burgundy coexist as terrors of Europe, and Khorasan is dividing and conquering India. I am quite pleased I managed to actually survive for the first out of at least ten tries, altough I cheated a bt and started when Castille was at war with Portugal and France, and had a Rev. Stack of 31000. Still, I treat it as a great feat because I didn't get destroyed instantly. Castille just doesn't seem to care about me oddly enough. First conquered the Huron, then worked my way down, taking all the rich natives' gold. I had been waiting for a +10% Navigator which for the first time weren't spamming the advisor window. Missed out and got totally hemmed in, just about a decade from the cores needed to connect my two regions (Former Huron and Shawnee). So I conquered the Aztecs and Zapotec (with such gamey tactics like abusing guarentees, trapping the enemy in one province while a small division conquers all remaining territories for the annexation, and etc.) and now am silently waiting for the cores needed to engulf the rest of NA and finally get a port. May end up having to go north though.

(If you're wondering how I got all those Iberian provinces, I didn't beat Castille. Portugal took Andalusia, and revolters were free to liberate Gibraltar, Cordoba and Murcia. I don't think Granada will be in any position to start a Counter-Reconquista any time soon though. )

I'm playing as Tuscany in this one, looking to form Italy. I've since beaten back the Ottomans and released the Byzantine Empire (granted, now it's Muslim instead of Orthodox). I've been working on getting my rep lower, and got the Papal Controller event (which cancelled out England's excommunications that they've been doing to every single nation in Europe!). Spain (Castille) had nearly all of Spain and Portugal conquered, but bit more off than they could chew when deciding to attack France (lost a few provinces and Gallicia). I called a Crusade on the Mamluks (not doing as good as in other games), which I think must've triggered the Great Eurasian War... I noticed that the Golden Horde had declared war on Hungary, Denmark and a few other nations, then European countries and Asian countries have started dog-piliing on each other. The Mamluks just got into the act, too.

How do you take a map screenshot?

F12 is map screenshots (F11 is a screenshot). They go into the screenshots folder.
