Nah, I'm actually maybe exagerating in my fear of inflation and keeping it at almost zero all the time. Maybe this is why I can't do anything?
How do you send troops across the ocean?
IIRC transports are disabled in the demo version. Otherwise, what taillesskangaru should work. How do you send troops across the ocean?
Just a quick question, how do you go about making vassals want to be annexed by you (i.e. not Very Unlikely but at least Maybe)? Because in my current Brandenburg game, I've got Silesia, Bohemia, and Pommerania as vassals, and I want to annex at least one of them to help improve my economy (most likely Bohemia). But they're all at "Very Unlikely". Could this be because of my high infamy (15/28)? Or just lower prestige ( its at 30, which is pretty low, even though it's the second highest in all of Europe)?
AFAIK, you need very high prestige and very low infamy. Chance will also increase if you share the same culture and religion. Also, the longer the length of the vassal relationship the more likely the vassal will accept annexation. I think chance will decrease if the vassal has any existing diplomatic relationships or royal marriages with another country; I'm not sure on this though.
And actually, just one more question. How does one go around changing dynasties/inheriting countries through kings? Do I just spam royal marriages (I have already) or do I have to do something else?
An ally of you calls you to aid them in a war. You accept. Then you get an individual white peace for yourself shortly after. Is there a penalty for that?
You know I think I've had that happen too. My normal play style is to stop playing in a relatively calm period so I don't normally have any alerts active when I stop, but early on in my campaign I was finding that if I saved when there was an alert it wouldn't be there when I resumed.
Another little question. In my game Burgundy (my allies) went to war with Inca and pulled me into it too. I quickly took 5 Incan provinces and chose to seize them, wrecking my reputation in the process, then I sued for peace. That was all how I expected it to happen. BUT, Burgundy is out there still and took around 1o provinces from the Incans and their reputation is still 'respectable'. Does reputation not work the same way for AI powers as for the player? Is there a way to take provinces without hurting your rep?
Here is another question or strange thing... Maybe I am dreaming but:
1) It's late at night, I'm still playing but I need to go to bed. Suddenly, I get a call to arms from my ally, and it's a difficult decision. I choose to save my game and take a decision the next day.
2) Next day, I reload my game and... ... The call to arms isn't there anymore. The alert is gone. I can't accept or decline it. I don't seem to lose my alliance either after letting the game run for a year or two after that.
Am I dreaming? This seems to have happened twice. The first time I thought "um, I must have had saved before I got the call to arms, and upon reloading, the random dice decided that the ally was not going to send a call to arms this time". ... ... But it happened again yesterday and I was like "ok that's weird".
Call to arms are often tough choices for me and they are usually an event that makes me go to bed when I'm playing the game, so this particular situation can happen to me quite often.
I'm still just on my first play-through on the vanilla game (planning to get the expansions for next game), and I actually had a casus belli too against Inca IIRC. I had cores on most of the provinces I seized. Are you playing HT3? If so, it's probably because Burgundy had a Casus belli, which would probably have reduced the infamy he was taking in. While you, who just helped fight as an ally, didn't have a Casus belli, so you took the regular amount of infamy.
I had that happen to me, too the other day. I guess it's probably a bug.
I consider it cheating.Yeah. When you reload, any call to arms or event box that are there when you save disappears. It's... useful.![]()
